Recently I received a lot of help from the people here and Classic Z with all my trans problems. So I ended up buying a trans jack from Harbor Freight(400 Lb) model for the swap. It worked okay, but it defenitely helped. Anyway if you need to borrow it ,drop me an email. -Rick

I have a hypothetical situation that I would like to hear your thoughts on. I know this has probably been discussed to death, but this is just a hypothetical situation and I'd like to hear your hypothetical answers! You've just bought a 240z that is rust free, has been painted once and needs another paint job in the near future. Interior has been removed but is all there. The original engine has been rebuilt but the previous owner took it out and started to swap in a Chevy small block. Other than actually placing the motor in the engine bay, nothing else has been done. He included the original L24 in the sale, which is supposed to run. The goal of the car isn't to restore…

Awhile back, I posted a thread asking about the experiences of people who have bought parts cars. After reading your input, I went ahead and purchased one that had been offered to me. I've been digging around in it and have taken some photos of some of the more fun / interesting parts. Shown are a decent Bridgestone RD-150 on a lightly used rim, a uncracked dash, a nice fuse cover with fuse puller, a heater control panel with minimal scratches and chrome overlay intact, and a tire changing tool bag still sealed in plastic. At this point, I may not end up parting the car out. I'm in the process of porting over some of the nicer applicable parts into my 11/71 car (the …

Brand new cap, rotor, points, condensor and coil. Still run rough only at idle very peppy and responsive otherwise. Weak fire on cylinder #4 at idle when wire unplugged. Wires changed 03/09 with Napa Blue BMX (about 14K ago). My feeling is the #4 spark plug wire is the problem. The engine was running smooth a couple of weeks ago and it happens only at idle as missing intermittently on one cylinder. What do you think?

I was just watching the Mecum auto auction from Des Moines, IA that I recorded Friday night and saw a silver 260Z automatic with 19K miles. It got bid up to $15,000, but didn't meet the reserve. My first time seeing a Z on a TV auction. They spent about 4 mins talking about it. One of the floor commentators is a guy named Stephen Cox, and he said he owns one that he races. He talked it up as being a very rare one year only model, a "follow up to the very successful 240Z" and that the 280Z came out the next year. They also said that since there are early and late model 260Zs that adds to the "rarity". They talked about some of the "innovative" features under the hoo…

I know this board is pretty much for purists and most boards frown on this question being asked but...I'm gonna say Dave did it first I'm going to sell my car as soon as I get the electronic ignition sorted out...or revert back to points distributor, whichever comes first My car doesn't really have any secrets...I've kept an online log pretty much since day one. http://67.18.219.83/image_hosting/web_pages/Mike88se/images/240/240Z.htm

:)Hello everyone, I am going to Japan for a business trip, kid's school, and vacation from this weekend till beginning of August. I will be posting interesting things I find over there soon. If anyone has questions regarding impossible-to-find parts, please post here so I can look for them or do a possible group buy from suppliers. Also I will conduct final inspection of the limited reproduction US tail lamps upon shipping there.
