Anyone have reccomendations for a good car cover. The car is stripped of all windows doors etc. I need a good cover to keep the weather off/out of it as i work on it. Snow wont be a problem as it will be under cover by then. I've never bought a cover and dont want to find out i bought a junk one a year from now. Thanks in advance. Brian

I just wanted to say hi to all my long time Z friends. I think it's been nearly 6mo since I visited the site. Work and school have kept me extra busy with little time for extracurricular activities. Anyway, I hope you're all well and still rollin' in your beloved Zs. Cheers, Adam

Hey, Been almost a year since my last Z, was a 260, awesome, but couldnt keep all three cars at the time. That was my 4th Z, Anyway I finally found my dream Z, Bought it just a couple of days ago, and love it all over. Cant beat the 70's green. But was so excited I probably didnt realize what a gem I'd found til after I drove it back, and got my thoughts together. Here are the stats: 7/73 Almost 44K orig miles. (odo hasnt been around again) You can tell by the condition, and feel of the car. Matching eng numbers, original flat top carbs, etc. Orig tan interior, original carpets, not torn at all, just dry and crunchy! 4spd orig box with the original clutch …

It is very exciting to put the car together. I am the second owner. I used the car as my daily drive from the 70’s to the 80’s. I stopped using the car when my wife told me she was pregnant in 1983. The car has been unused but was run once a year for the last 27 years. I have been taking it apart for 3 years. All the rust has been cut out and new metal has been welded in. All the rubber has been replaced hoses, seals, boots and mounts. The bottom of the car has been striped and painted. It is running for the first time in the rebuild. I have add a few new parts. New Bilstein shocks all around, stainless steel brake lines hard and soft, all new back and front brakes, m…

I just purchased a 77 fairlady z (S31) 2+2 probably from another member on this board. This is my first z car. This vehicle has a lot of rust. Floor pans are gone, rear tire well, back lower panel is shot with cancer. Would it be better to transfer everything to a rust free chassis or try my skills on fixing all the problems with this car?

Was on vacation and hadn't started the Z for 3 weeks (ran great before vacation). Got home, it started right up, then died after about 30 seconds. Float bowls were dry. Pulled the line off a carb, no fuel coming out when cranked. Pulled the inlet line off the fuel pump (mechanical, no electric pump) and cranked, no pumping action (no suction on the thumb that I could tell). Blew back through the filter and heard fuel go through to the tank. Figured the pump was bad (cheapo from Autozone about 4 months old). Ordered a new pump. Today took the old pump off, and it worked by moving the lever once it was off (good suction on the thumb). Hmm. Put it back on, everything is fi…

As you can see, the picture is of two families in one. My daughter and I thought this picture would be cool in front of her sorority. Sarah still loves her car and all the attention it gives her. All her guy friends at school are jealous and always looking for a ride:cool:. Don't know if dad could have done a better job finding her a car that she likes so much, and I love driving it too-when she lets me:) Now that my car is looking good, she's wanting to know when her's get's to look that pretty. I guess I know what my next BIG project will be. Maybe the next Zcon we will both be there. Heck, she might have won the daily driver with her car!

So Im debating on a second Z already. Its another 76 280 like the one I just bought the other week but has much more problems as far as I can see. The owner has been brief and has not confirmed any problems with the car yet ( but I keep asking ) which concerns me. Its a Craigslist find and Im gunna have to drive 2 hours to view the car. Here are some pics. I have no problem working on the body and interior cause well its a Datsun and I can only expect to replace 1/2-3/4 of the cars body panels anyway with catchy aftermarket stuff.

Just finished a 290 mile drive in my 240Z to finish breaking-in the engine today. Travelled from the San Francisco peninsula and picked-up a buddy in the east bay, about 70 miles away. The second stop was at Rebello Racing in Antioch where my engine was rebuilt. Showed the completed car to Dave Rebello, so he could see his 2.7 upgrade installed. Dave complimented me on the car and pointed out that my harmonic balancer has the beginning of a wobble. Nothing to be concerned about, but he suggested it be replaced down the road. He also suggested that rebuilding the distributor could improve how the engine runs on pump gas. We filled the tank and crossed the San Joaqu…
