40th Anniversary Z 1 2 3

I was reading in today's local paper a review on the 370Z, in coupe, roadster and Nismo versions. In addition, they were talking about Nissan introducing a 40th anniversary edition "complete with compulsory badging (embroidered seat backs and floor mats) and equipped with a sports package, 19 in wheels, splashy red leather inside and Nissan even throws in a satin car cover". I searched prior posts and have not seen any comments or pics of the proposed 40th edition. Anybody see what this is going to look like?

Current ebay listing for item # 300240863803 is presently at $29,200 with the reserve not yet met! I hope it's not bogus. It really is a beautiful, apparently original (claimed) 920 Gold car- VIN #HLS30-14665. I leave that to all you eagle eyes. Finishing at a bit after 1PM EDT. Not restored, and not a Program car. It would be nice to see more and more of these unmolested cars going for bigger bucks. It does make the barrier to entry higher for nicer cars, but rising waters raise all boats, as they say. It's about time the Z car enters the big time, IMHO. I'm tired of seeing relatively undistinguished Vettes and Mustangs going for $50 grand- no offense to their owners-…

My car has been running pretty darn good.It seems to still have a rich smell.Any driving that I have done has been short runs ,to work and back about 5 miles, joy ride 10 miles.Today out to my brothers about a 30 mile round trip.It was running good on the way out.The car sat for about 3 hrs before I left. On the way home after going through a couple of car lots at idle. When I went back to normal driving,it started to cut out.Sitting at a light to long will also put it in the same funk.It seems like when I try and lean it up it just gets worse.like I said I smell fuel so I know it is to rich. But it seems to run the best at this setting. But now I have the cutting out proble…

I'm neck deep into a complete ground up rebuild of my '73 240z. I thought it's about time I started a thread on this car and started sharing my "experiences" I just finished replacing the passenger side floor-pan and decided to start working on the battery compartment area (it was completely rusted out). After cutting away all the sheet metal I got a better view of the condition that the passenger side frame rail is in. I new that I would have to cut parts of it out and replace with good metal but after getting a good look at it I think I'll just replace the whole thing. Before I cut it away completely from the body I decided to take a closer look and try and devi…

Woke up this morning to find my car on Jalopnik. I was shocked. I had joked with my brother about it in the past, but I never thought they would actually have my car on there!! Atleast 85% of the people think that its a Nice Pipe. Some great comments as well. Its still for sale if anyone is interested. http://jalopnik.com/5616412/for-7000-its-the-parting-of-the-red-z

hey guys, If I were to improve performance of my 240z, what would be some good stepping stones to put down on paper (or this thread) to maybe get a third gear chirp on the road so to speak? original L24 motor, 5-spd trans 10/71 mnfctr date can we form a priority list for what to buy/install/ do to the motor? thanks...B

I have seen some nice cars on Craigs list but they are ruined by this striping. I would never consider a car looking like this. Just my own opinion. If you have a car to sell, get rid of the stripe and you might have better luck. Here is an example.http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/1880702206.html

Hey guys, first let me introduce my self. My names Fred and I'm a recovering alcoholic....opps wrong forum. What i really mean is i'm thinking about going Z for the first time. It all started when I saw this pic on a random google image search. As yoda would say "in love I fell". Now I've been searching and reading up on these cars for the past few days. I just need some super basic info. In that pic, what year is that car abouts? When I look a different years i see nothing that looks like that front end. When I go to buy said car what should I be looking for as common problem areas? My over all goal is to swap in a LSx motor after getting the rest of the car up to spec…

Where's the best place to find a parts manual for my '77? I already have the service manual but it would be great to have both. I read on here that Courtesy Nissan has them, but I looked on their website and didn't see anything about them. Thanks in advance, Alex
