Hi guys, I found locally a fellow that has a set of webers and a blow through turbo manifold with turbo for sale. He says the manifold and turbo came off a 79 Skyline. Neither the turbo nor the webers have seen use for 10 years but of course he is convinced they are "good". I am posting a couple of pictures and am hoping some one can give me a sense of what this is worth and if it is worth fooling with. Many thanks! Leonard

During the car show Mr. Matsuo told me a story about the final shakedown of the latest front end aero work with him driving 500 kms at 200kph late one night to see if this version would keep the nose down at speed. I asked him if there were any pictures of the earlier front end aero styling and he said he would email me them once he got back home. He then went on to say the A, the B, and C noses, etc. didn't work as well as the G nose. So Alan, please jump in and help me as I have never heard this portion of the story behind what we call the g-nose. His comments to me were quite clear as to what they called the earlier versions. As to keeping the front end down, I took my…

Has anyone seen this one in person: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1972-240Z-BROCK-RACING-ENTERPRISES-BRE-tribute-car-/250675117569?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a5d66be01#v4-37 It looks nice enough in the pictures, but hey, Internet pictures usually make things look better than they really are. The car seems to be pretty true to the BRE design though. It is located near Sacramento. Is there a good Z Shop in that area to have it checked out? The car is interesting, but seems a little steep at $13,500 to start. What do you guys think?? Marty

I have this car up on ebay. Maybe should have gone through Classic Zcar. The car has been sitting in a California garage (not started) for the past 20 years. I am getting a lot of messages asking about floor and frame rust. I don't see any. Am I just looking underneath for floor rust or should I be pulling back the interior flooring? I don't want to falsely lead anyone.

About ten years ago we had a new radio installed in our 1978 280 Z. They replaced the original antenna switch (which I believe allowed us to lock the antenna in a up or down position) with a new toggle switch on the side of the center console. About six years ago we had the car painted. They broke the radio antenna and replaced it and wired the antenna to go up when the key was turned on and down when the key was turned off. They removed the toggle switch. The last couple of years the ignition switch will not turn the engine over until the antenna is fully up. Most of the time the ignition will not turn over on the first try. Several attempts have to be made by turn…

From the very cool site bringatrailer.com : "This 1970 Datsun is the Z432 model which rises above the other early Z’s thanks to the factory installed S20 Skyline 6-cylinder engine. The 430-ish built came with magnesium wheels, 5-speed transmissions, and one of the sweetest engine notes you will ever find. See this one here at Bingo Sports in Japan for 8,800,000 Yen or about $101k at today’s rate. Special thanks to BaT reader Gerrard N. for this submission!" http://www.wintel.co.jp/wintel/owa/pspe_stock_detail1?in_categorize=0&in_group_id=&in_shopno=632-1&in_carno=56&in_mode=stocklist&in_designno=&in_cssno=&in_shop_disp=1&in_ref_page=&am…

Well ever since I found out that Z con was going to be so close to home this year, I have been telling myself that I've got to be there with my Z. The reality is that I have a ton of work to do. You might have seen my thread where I had posted that the car was finally painted, but now it's time to put everything-and I mean everything back together. This is a daunting task with a deadline that is getting closer everyday. I've tried to have a lot of things ready to just bolt back on after painting, but all those details are what's going to catch up with me. When I make out a list it seems never ending: Things to do; 1.Buff out paint job and fix any imperfections 2.Install a…

I've read a couple posts lately about what these cars have been fetching. This looks to be a nice example. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1972-Datsun-240Z-W0QQAdIdZ218899581

After a lot of thought I've decided to part this car out to fund the build of another. I'll also post this in the classifieds. PM me if you have a need. I have a friend who is in the international shipping business out of Houston's port, so I might be able to help some of you folks down under on larger parts. I'm checking into that option. Thanks
