I watched some of Mecum car auction last weekend & a 74 260z went for 12k. Pretty good huh? Even though the TV spokesperson didnt give much respect because is was an automatic (otherwise they all said they really like the early z cars).

Is this a car you guys would reccommend? Also he is requiring a wire transfer as the only method of payment. I feel a bit uneasy about this.Has anyone done this and what are the risks> i.e you wire the money and then go to pick up the car and it is not there.

About two weeks ago, I became a member and because I was getting my moms 240. Its a 6/72/ Its also been sitting in a field in Nevada for about 15 years. How ever, the body is in good shape and no cancer in the pans. The hoses are Shot and I am looking for replacements BUT I see a lot of Non-Braided Nissan hoses. For a restoration, are those OK? And there is even some Reproduction hoses. It also looks like there was a after market chrome part added to the front bumper. Is that OK for a restoration? And the hatch back is black. Do you think that came off a different car? I am all full of questions but I will keep them to a minimum for now. Being new to all this but very …

I just saw this on Ebay. It looked pretty good(not many interior photos) until I saw the photo on flicker. Two large Circle like things in the Dash. Is this some sort of sound system that the guy is talking about. OK, I guess that I am committed to fixing my 260Z. A guy here in Houston acquired a bunch of parts to restore his '72, but has decided against it and is bailing. I picked up: Zeddfindings floors and rails - NEW Gas tank - NOS with factory stickers (and no pipe on drivers side for hose to evap tank) 2 front fenders with no rust on bottoms! But have a few holes where flairs were mounted. Good evening, I have good contacts in Japan,including translators. I have an idea to start a business specializing in importing / sourcing / translating Z related items straight from Japan. I don't know what the Z community wants most.Japanese magazines (translated?) Catalogs? Part ordering? Throw your ideas up here. FYI - for reference, my contact was able to find OEM G-Nose light covers for me and mail them over here. I have no idea what all they can get for me.

From what I have read and what I can sit in, I've deduced that the 240Z & 280Z will probably fit my 6'6" 240 frame ok. I've sat in a 79 280zx I was thinking of buying, but I didn't have enough headroom. I do own a 86 Z31 that fit's me comfortably and suspect that my problem with the 79 280zx was the lack of T-Tops for that year. I was wondering if someone owns both a 280z and the later model ZX with the T-Tops and how they compare on headroom.

I stumbled on this one a week or so ago. Have been exchanging emails from the owner. Here is what he has told me so far, I haven't seen it in person yet: 1973 Datsun 240z under 20,000 original actual miles Burnt orange w/black interior, automatic He has TLC'd this car and stored for most of it's life.
