I am about to put the crank back in the block of my L24. I bought new engine main bearings from black dragon and i am goin to plastiguage the new bearings. Does anybody know the oil clearance spec for the L24 mains?

Well, the crankshaft pulley on my '78 280Z is wobbling. Doug Bakke of Awesome Z in Houston noticed it as he was looking at a couple of other items for me (fuel pressure and lines). We're hoping it's not the end of the crank itself, but just the pulley/bolts/rubber. Pulley is on it's way, so I'll find out soon.

I am doing some major garage overhaul, and I thought I would make a mural or a fathead from a photo and put it in my garage. I was wondering if people could send me any super hi res photos 6 MB minimum of any Z pics they have so I can blow them up to at least a 4' x 6' image. My email is sdamico555@gmail.com I got in the mood to paint the entire garage yesterday, then I figured I may as well put of a shelving system, then I may as well hang the bikes, and the list goes on and on. While I am waiting for my transmission and parts to come in so I can do a swap out, I may as well be productive! I must be crazyROFL

Hi everyone, As you all may have guessed from my earlier posting, I just got back my 240z from the body shop. I have been ordering parts like crazy and have had some real issues with some of the vendors. I bought a set of stainless steel brake lines off of ebay from New Old Stock Motorsports in Arizona on 5/9 and have not heard anything from them. I paid promptly and have no idea what the deal is. I have tried contacting them via ebay with no reply. I have sent emails that get bounced back. I have tried calling a number I found on google but that wouldn't go through for some reason. They continue to post auctions on ebay so they haven't dissappeared. Finally today…

Just curious. What RPM is a 240z normally at cruising at 65ish on the highway in 4th gear? My z has an R200 in it with a standard 4-speed and I suspect it's a 3.90:1 as I'm screaming along at about 3,800rpm in 4th with the speedo indicating about 85mph just keeping up with traffic.

you don't want to see this: I was replacing the thermostat housing, water temperature sensor and the thermostat cover. One of the bolts broke off in the head. That's always fun. Luckily about 3/8" of an inch was protruding. With a little penetrating oil (50:50 ATF:Acetone - works every time) and vice grips, I was able to extract it without drama. Dodged the bullet...this time.

I opened up the wiper motor since it wasn’t working and I found that the 3 brushes were broken, I could find the exact replacement, however I got 3 very similar and I just file them (not sure about this word but is what the translator came out with), and it seem to be working now, however when I put the high speed for the motor is even slower. I check all the connection and they are all right, does the length of the brushes have something to do with it? I ask this because it was the only measure that I didn't have a reference, and another question, and this was fault because I didn't label everything. I tried to reassemble the Arms but I can't remember how they go, I …

Hi Everyone, Last weekend I attended with fellow ZCCNV members ZDAYZ. What a great time!! I have been involved in so many Z adventures and wanted to add another new one. What a wonderful choice I made. I found myself more than anything that weekend wanting to just hop in my car and DRIVE all the time. The Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon were roads that I have rarely experienced. Many many switchbacks. Those switchbacks are a little unnerving for some especially when we were lost in the dark and large creatures flying closely overhead. Has anyone got any suggestions about speakers for a 280z? My husband got me 2 box speakers for Xmas a couple of years ago. They sound fine but they really take up a lot of space. I saw some that are built into the back of a 240z but the back of the 240 is deeper. Help!
