You know, we all do it, browse through some marketplace, ebay, craigslist, Kijiji, looking for Datsun goodies, sometimes you find something interesting and you put it in your shopping cart for later. Gives you a chance to ask that eternal question, “Need” or “Want”…. Makes you feel like you’re in control of your purchases. Right… Anyway. Well I’ve done that on ebay lately, put a couple if items in my cart for “later”, A headliner for my latest 510 project, some key blanks for Z locks, etc. Both items were simple purchase, not auctions. Well, the key blanks were in the cart first and by themselves for about a week when I get this un-expected notification from eb…

Hello, Long time member here, I've been busy with home renovations. I'm looking for singles or batches of OEM Datsun hose clamps. You know, with the round JIS screw heads. I'll buy anything from 1-1000 pieces. Rusty and dirty is just fine. Paypal ready, located in central Indiana. Here's a shot of my very first SU setup that I rebuilt myself. Sadly the 73 was totaled at the end of 2019.

I installed my headlight scoops the other day and noticed a small crack in the clearcoat. I looked at it a couple of hours after I installed it and realized it was a crack in the headlight scoop. I think the car took a bump there long ago. I am not too concerned with the crack as long as it doesnt get any bigger. I really dont want to replace it and risk a paint mismatch. Does anyone know of a resin or something that can be applied to the back to keep it from growing? Any thoughts? Thanks Gary

I decided to start this thread to provide some background on some of the work I am doing/planning. My car is an early production 76. Back in 95, at the advice of Z Doc (Roanoke), I swapped motors from an 83 ZX, with the .080 head cut, early 280 valves, etc. and not much else in terms of performance. The car ran well, but not as well as I imagined it would, and it was okay. After a year or so and about 10-15K miles of daily use, I could no longer live with the rust, so I took the car off the road for a complete restoration. As life would have it, my plans got side-tracked. I started a business and never had the time to restart the Z project until now. …

Some guy bought a house and land with an old 240. Facebook marketplace said it was a '69. Message the guy to get the vin # and he said he was flogged with inquiries. It wasn't to far away, complete car for $1,500. I figured out my loose change and when I texted him back it was SOLD. Turns out it was a '72 but still a decent deal I thought. Day late and a dollar short... Eh, maybe next time? It would've been fun for this winter to play with though. 😥

This is a neat new thing @Mike has done for deranged praise seekers like me. I need to get out more but I'm a happy "safer at home" person too.

I see a few of you noticed that I recently sold my Z of 43 years on BaT. I accomplished what I set out to do and felt it was time for a new adventure. I'm not sure what that will be yet, but I'm looking around. Anyway, I have a number of original parts left that may be helpful to someone. I'm going to try to run a continuous ad that will be revised as I dig out parts. My intent is to support the community with needed parts, not make a lot of money from the sales. Take a look from time to time. Best of luck with your projects. Dave
