Has anyone tried out the Eastwood Tin-Zinc Plating kit? I got one after plating some hose clamps using a friend's kit. The clamps came out nice, and looked almost as good as new. I tried it myself on a intake vacuum fitting, and it wasn't as shiney; maybe I didn't use enough brake cleaner and it wasn't clean enough. I would like to ask people who have used it successfully for tips. I was planning on plating screw heads, hose clamps and all those rusty water fittings after de-rusting. thxZ

In the parts for sale a person has a Prince shift knob for sale. My 72 240 has that very same emblem in the middle of the console just ahead of the shift lever (between shift lever and radio). I never thought much of it until I see the shift knob. Is there any significance (history) to the emblem? A search here doesn't mention it. Mostly curious. Leonard

I want to let everyone know that there are some great folks on this forum who have gone out of their way to help! AnthonyG saw that I was a little late in getting in-line for Zsondabrains rear brake drum parts that he was giving away. Turns out that AnthonyG was doing a swap to disc brakes and (like Dave did for another lucky Zhead) GAVE me all of his parts AND the front calipers. These parts are in great shape with some only a year old! At the very least these parts allow me to get the car one step closer to drivable position or more. I plan on rebuilding one of the calipers and maybe one of the wheel cylinders. This wonderful gesture really helps out a retired person …

The factory R180 out of my z (it has a non-LSD R200 in it) is absolutely caked with grime. Is there a specific method and/or cleaner that's best for getting all that off? Can the whole assembly be dunked in a bucket full of solvent? Perhaps I could have it hot-tanked?

Has anyone found a way, or a way not to, to clean the old washer tanks and other white plastic parts in the Z that have discolored with age? Is it even possible to get them nearly white again?

I was getting ready to attach the air cleaner cover and noticed the black inner rubber seals are dry and cracked. It looks like these seals are NLA and was wondering what would be a good replacement. Let me know what else can be used, or if by chance these are available let me know where. There are two seals, one thinner but taller, and the other more flat. Thanks in advance, Randy

I'm still here! Currently fighting to keep my Z. I have no where to park it. Manager won't let me keep it in the parking area. So it's on the street. >_> Anyway, I'm hoping to change over to a different starter motor, and get a clutch kit from MSA. I need some door hinges or whatever it is because those are broke. (damn! just saw the MSA price one them!! ) Aside form these, anybody have any ideas where to go? This is all provided I can keep it. Which will be tough to finagle convincing to keep it considering I have to deal with my '82 Jeep Wagoneer..

For realz this time! First, thanks big time to Motorman7 for meeting with me this past saturday. He showed me his own cars and tutored me on what to look for when shopping. We went to look at one together, turned out to need quite a bit more rust repair than claimed. One frame rail was hollowed out, and the same-side door and fender were just about keeping pace. As I was leaving his house, he mentioned one on Craigslist that he thought would be a good buy if the bottom looked as clean as the top. Turns out the car was just a short distance from there, so I went to look at it. Below is a link to what I found. http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/AwwsChwA/72%202…

I need the right side windshield squirter nozzle for my 73. I've found them online used, which is fine, but I remember a thread where someone was using a Maxima or some other model's nozzle, with better results than the originals. Does this ring a bell for anyone? I've searched, but can't find the thread I'm thinking about. BTW, here's a tip. If your nozzle is clogged, be very careful you don't snap off the sewing needle inside it when you are cleaning it. Thanks, Matt

I bought #1905 about a year ago and have not touched it. I have collected a few NOS parts for it. For pics on the car see link: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32987&highlight=1905 I have now plan to start stripping the car and doing the resto-mod. The car is very very solid. Great starting point for the L30t. I know that is not making some of you happy due to the VIN but at least it won't get a v8 Here is a link to the turbo build: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=141343&highlight=l30et The plans body wise is keep the car looking stock only a spook front air dam. Plan to keep the car silver and running coil overs, big brakes and …
