Yup, that's right, I made a big mistake yesterday. A friend of mine tossed me the keys to his newly acquired 350Z and let me drive it. For about 10 or 12 blocks I took it very easy, becoming more familiar with the general feel while the car warmed up. Thoughts at the time - very solid, reasonably compliant suspension (roads here are notoriously bad), lousy rear vision. About 3 blocks before returning to our starting point, he says "jump on it", so I did  ! Only for about 1/2 block and then back to brakes for the next intersection, but the acceleration was very impressive! Now, all I can think about is what a nice bookend one of these would make for my Mexican…

the ad: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/1589200529.html I've emailed the owner to ask the primary question about rust, he says there isn't any. I've requested pictures. I have a couple questions for the forum about this one besides the rust: 1) that's not a factory color, is it? 2) does it look like the rear wheel is sitting too far forward, or is it just me? If it is too far forward, is it because of the problem with the differential mounts that have the mentioned problems? 3) are the problems with the differential mounts something that makes the car unsafe to drive? If the car were otherwise purchasable, should it be towed? 4) are there any specific questions …

There are very limited production of tail lamp (Euro/JDM type)assembly reproduced in Japan since last October. I bought one set for a friend mine, and look identical to original ones except for Koito name. These are assembly with new harnes(harnes conectors are JDM version, so you need to change that) It costs 76000 Yen in Japan(so it cost appx. $775.51 at exchage rate of 98 Yen=$1 USD Plus shipping. If I have 3-4 express shipped at once, I can supply them at $835 or so after import tax, insurance, and shipping cost). If anyone is interested, please let me know. They look identical to original even the plastic texture, unlike lense sets we see. I wish the cost is cheape…

Hello everybody, I'm Chris and I'm currently in the process of purchasing a '72 Datsun 240z shell for really cheap price! But I'd like everyone's opinion on this near purchase of mine before I take a step towards it & invest on it. I've come to love it and really have a desire to restore this car, always have for any 240z as they should be restored!! But like everyone, money is low blow and definitely an issue! (times be hard now a days, we all know that) My only issue and concern is if I decide to go on with the purchase is obviously the work; rust issues mainly! Which leads to a lot of 'media blasting' or whatever it may be called to restore a car from rust...? And…

To add to my past problem solving adventures, I now have a charging issue. I have a new battery shows 13.3 when charged but drains while the car is running (11.7). So what is the best way to check the alternator? I really do not wish to throw $$$ at the problem. 1978 280Z

Greetings, all. Not sure what the technical term is, perhaps the heat riser. On the front of the stock air cleaner housing of my 1972 240Z is a flap that can be set for summer (flap parallel to intake throat ) or winter (flap blocks throat, air drawn into air cleaner from tube which draws air warmed by the exhaust manifold). I've looked in a 1970 owner's manual, quite a few repair manuals and some searching on this site, and I've been unable to answer this simple question: How cold is winter? Or: At what temperature should I position the flap for winter driving? We have a pretty temperate, if dreary, winter clime here. Lows drop into the 30s a handful of times during …

Hi everyone and happy new year to all!!! I'll cut to the chase.....A friend of mines wifes' grandfather passed and has inherited a 1971 240Z (s/n 37792 7/71). If ever there was a 240Z that is the perfect candidate for a bone stock restoration, this one is it! It's had a repaint at some time (Silver) and is a 4 speed with black interior. The car has been in storage for the last 14 years, has no rust in the usual places albiet a very small rust spot on the left rocker panel at the rear, the body panels are absolutely straight, the bumper are straight with good chrome, has the stock overide bars front and rear, has the original hub cap (as well as an additional pair), the S…
