Hello all So this past weekend I was working on the Z once again putting the washer reservoir back in and running. In the process I started reading things that were written on intake manifold. Come to find that it says N42 on it. Confused I walk to the other end of the car and find that the cylinder head is an N47. So I'm wondering one thing. I'm new to Z's and have done some research but isn't the head and manifold supposed to have the same ID on them or can you mix and match them? Thanks Jan

Every Sunday morning over coffee my wife likes to read the Sunday paper. Since we're to cheap to buy a weekly subscription I get the job of driving three miles to the closest filling station to pick up that paper. Normally I just jump in one of our daily drives and head off for my weekly ten minute run. But today for some reason my Z was calling to me when I walked into the garage. So I move a car from in back of her, jumped in, and fired her up. Instantly she came to life and started purring like a kitten. I sat in her for a couple of minutes as she warmed up just smiling from ear to ear. Slipped her into reverse and backed her onto our street for the quick trip …

Does anybody have a picture of, or a copy of the 110 persimmon red, or 905 red paint swatches, or at least a sample square picture of them? I'm trying to decide which i want to paint my car with, and the bodyshop guy needs something for reference. Thanks.

Has anyone else here found themselves buying parts you really don't need just to save them from the crusher? I just dropped $100 at Pick & Pull and picked up what appears to be a high quality freshly rebuilt starter, right sugar scoop, 280z front hubs and very clean valve cover. What got crushed was a 77' 280z 2+2 with perfect front fenders, transverse links, 3.7 R180, straight doors, windshield and hatch glass, and clean HVAC fan. Do the doors and rear hatch glass fit the 240z? The car also had what appeared to be a relatively low mileage (based on the cleanliness and condition of the valve train) P79/F54 ATK replacement engine. If I didn't already have one of these…

Hey Guys Has anyone noticed that people in the new z's never seem to notice us older z's. Im mean even acknowledge us. Whats up with that? I can't count the number of times i have gone too waive at a new z only to feel like a dummy for not being noticed. I caught a girl in a 350z the other day and said hi. She thought i was a weirdo. Maybe the nostalgia only goes for us older Z's and is just lost on the newer generation z owners. Alright i had to get that out, its been bugging me Later Frankie

I have modified the intake track to be different than what is out there, I ignored what I read on the internet about porting and did my own thing. I was wondering if anybody was interested? I am also looking for sounds recorded from the carby when under WOT going thru the gears, you would need a laptop to record it, PM if you can do it for email address.

Hi all, Are all of the dimensions available for the 240Z somewhere? I have the chassis dimensions that look like they came out of a book of some kind but they don't include bumper to bumper dimensions, height of car at various points etc. What I want is something that shows all of the dimensions including interior dimensions and all exterior overall dimensions if available etc.; full details as if I were going to try to make a complete 3D cad drawing of the 240Z (preferably early 240Z if that makes a difference). Thanks! Mike

I bought a NOS set of the JDM headlight covers with the intention creating faithful reproductions with a few invisible upgrades(headlight seals-true stainless steel trim, available replacement parts...) I will not be starting this until after the '72 is on the street. I will be making at least a couple of sets as replacements for mine-just in case. My intent is to make them visually indistinguishable from, and interchangeable with the OEM part. On a beautiful day they would be indistinguishable, but they would be clearly superior after rain or a sudden weather change. Those of you who have experience with them know what I mean. I will also make the seals available to…

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ctd/1477302157.html It appears to a basic driver in fair condition with new paint. It would be nice to see some pics of the rest of the car to get the whole story.
