Just for fun, I decided to look up the early road tests of the 240Zs. Not sure who did the driving, but in 1970, Road & Track had a 0-60 acceleration result of 8.7 seconds. Car & Driver came in at 7.8. Misprint, or numbers criss-crossed? Bad driver at R & T? Top speed was also in two different ball parks. Car and Driver had it at 109 mph, while Road & Track claimed 122 mph at 5,800 rpm. Could it be a difference in gear ratio? Road & Track shows a rear-end ratio of 3.36/1, while Car and Driver does not mention that. Were the early batches of 240s sent over with two different rear ends? Curious

In the most recent Z that’s in getting parted, I found what must be the absolute pinnacle of ignition technology. Ok, maybe I’m thinking of 1978 , but anyway…. Anyone remember the brand name “HeathKit”?

I have decided that the right thing to do for my Z is rebuild it. I had planned to do so eventually, but much later down the line in my ownership. Here is why: Rust on Floor Pans needs replaced Rust on Lower Front Fenders and Dog Legs needs replaced This post resulted in this: Broke head off of bolt in exhaust manifold that connected EGR to exhaust manifold which means I need to remove the intake manifold to replace the exhaust manifold Discovered more surface rust that is on the cusp of becoming cancerous rust Needs repainted After discovering more rust when working on the EGR, I could no longer avoid w…

Happy Birthday Mark... Starting a Birthday card for you. You have been of such good assistance to a lot of the members, I thought it would be appropriate to let everyone know you are turning 68 today, and giving them a chance to wish you well too. Hope you are having a great day, and eating a lot of ice cream and cake. Jai Rusu_Mihai_-_Universal_Happy_Birthday.mp3

Hi all, Picked up my first 260Z a couple of weeks ago and I'm already hooked! I think she's a 1978 260Z although not registered in the UK until April 1979, which I think might just make her the youngest or last 260Z registered in the UK? I'm the 10th owner and I'm looking forward to compiling the history of the car over the coming months. The original colour was a metallic brown but she had a full colour change in 1998-1999 to Boston Green Metallic. A few bits and pieces to do next year, but generally she's in superb condition and still pulls like a freight train!
