Remember those blue translucent NGK spark plug wires harnesses sold in the late 70's through mid 1980's? While web browsing I may have found a source for bulk wire. Comes in clear, translucent red and blue. Attached is a spec sheet. Two problems: 1 - I don't know if the resistance is too high / low, and - 2- The mfg datasheet indicates it's sold in 1000 meter rolls. I haven't tried contacting them, but perhaps with some sweet talking they might be willing to sell it in 25 or 100 meter lengths. Alternately, I found a source for the "clear" wire stock sold in 25 foot lengths. I'm thinking it may be possible to dye it blue to recreate the old NGK wires. Here's th…

I am for sure these are not oem, because of the big kinks in them both, this has to restrict the flow of coolant to and from this unit. Does anyone know what it is so that i can get the correct hoses ?

I was having too good a time yesterday and lost control out of turn 5 at Harris Hill Road. :stupid: Consequently, the car tried to climb that hill (made it up about half way). The initial contact with Mother Earth disintegrated my air dam and right parking lamp assembly. I've got a new air dam on order from MSA, but need help finding the parking lamp assembly for my '70. The driver side lamp assembly escaped unscathed. I posted a 'Parts Wanted' ad on this site, have written ZBarn and Arizona Z. Any other suggestions? Any and all help appreciated !! Frank

Hi I've been lurking around the forums for a couple of years and finally got my first 240z about two weeks ago. It's a '73 240z 5-speed manual. The car came with several keys but only one that will both start the car and unlock the driverside door (won't unlock passenger side). The keys are showing significant wear and on top of that i have a separate key for the gas lid and a separate key for the hatch. So i wan't to get new parts that use the same key. My problem is that i can't find a kit that uses the same key for both the door lock and the ignition assembly so i was wondering if anybody know of any kits? Thank you so much in advance and have a nice weekend degofedal

After about 8 months of tooling around I have finally got my 240 started. I finally got around to reset the oil pump in relation to tdc and set the float bowls on my carbs with some results. It fires up after a couple of cranks, but immediately revs to 3000 rpm. After either a couple of seconds of smooth runnning or back fires it will drop down to 1.5-2k and rev back up. This is with the choke cable pulled all the way out and the mixture knobs set 2.5 turns out. Hopefully I will be able to dig some more into the FSM and get it figured out in the morning. I am just glad to finally hear it run.

Came across this on cardomain. Don't think I have ever seen it before. I thought I saw a similar car on the forum but don't believe it was this one. I apologize if this is a repost. Does this car belong to a member here? I absolutely love what he has done and normally I am not the biggest V8 swap fan. Love the body mods!!!! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2978513

Today, I used my windshield washer. The last time I did that was sometime back in the late 1970s. Before I could use it, I had to replace the tubing and the "T" fitting near the driver's side squirter. As others have noted, aquarium tubing from WalMart ($1.49) works great. The "T" fitting came from the local True Value Hardware store ($1.30). So for $2.79 plus tax and about 15 minutes of labor, including re-aiming the squirters, I can now wash the windshield for the first time in about 30 years. Sometimes the easy jobs take the longest time to accomplish. The Z is a pleasure to work on. Dennis

:classic:Living in the Northeast I will be putting my cars away for the winter in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any tricks to help keep those nasty rodents from taking up residency in my car? I have never had a problem but my storage facility is an old greenhouse converted to a garage and I worry that something might happen. Any suggestions that will help keep the mice away is appreciated. Thanks.

Tim Suddard is selling the GRM 240Z project car. Here is a link to the ad: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/grm-project-240z-for-sale/15570/page1/ In the description, the rear wheel horsepower is incorrectly stated as 267. A later post corrects that to 167. Here is a link to the project car page which shows the multiple projects where the car has been featured in the magazine: http://classicmotorsports.net/project-cars/1970-datsun-240z/ Gary S.
