Just got back from a week business trip to Israel. Saw a few BMW 2002's, quite a few 318's, a couple Porsche 914's and Opals from the 70's, but not one Z, (of any kind). Were Z's exported to the middle east? I can say that the few 70's sports cars & sports sedans of this time period looked to be in pretty poor shape, so if they were sold there, they may have just rusted away...

After My beloved 1978 280z set for the past 7ish years I finally figured out the wiring issues. I am so excited to move forward and start fixing her back up! When I parked the car I was to young and uneducated to figure out the issues. My mind was plagued with Muscle car input saying go get a real car! So I did! !969 Camaro to be exact. So here we are 7 years later and I finally convinced myself to fix the Z and the Z Magic has taken over! I am so excited to get into it and breath new life into an old friend! I tell you this to half way introduce myself and prepare the ground for many great relationships with a great community of people and there cars! Here are some rece…

I am posting pics from Bill Coffey's Garage Party 6 and Car Show held at Bill's garage in Gainesville FL on Saturday 10/24/2009. Firstly, Thanks to Bill for setting it up. The catered food and drinks were great. Even though the day started out drizzly and stayed overcast, it was a great turnout of gorgeous Z Cars and a few other rightfully great vehicles. I plan to put comments on the photos, so if you have any details on the cars in the pics, send them via the comments, or by PM to me and I will post it. Enjoy the pics. See you next year. http://picasaweb.google.com/ValFamFla/BillCoffeySGarageParty6AndCarShow#

as original, how many at the front and at the rear? Is it possible that some models have been removed originally from the dealer and some may still have them? It just came to my attention today looking at some original literature where I see one towing hook on the left side but I also have a cable hook on the right side. It is the same basic set up at the rear where I have a cable hook and a towing hook. Is there any documentation if some of these hooks were used just for securing the cars on cargo ships back in the beginning of the first batch of S30s I am very curious because I have four hooks on mine.

So, I'm looking for ya'lls experience with air compressors for the garage. I'm thinking somewhere around 6-10 SCFM @ 90 psi / 20-30 + gallons, but still questioning oil or oil free. Any thoughts and comments about types/manufacture will be appreciated, thanks.

When my 240Z comes home from the paint booth, I'm going to want to put a cover on her. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent car cover? I searched the archives, but couldn't find anything. Thanks, guys....

I started looking in the cabinets and motorcycle race trailer today to see what sizes of Helicoils and/or Time-Serts and various other metric nuts, bolts, etc I happened to have on hand. Why? Well, you know... just in case I am doing some work on the Z and I come across something that has been over-wrenched, chiseled, stripped, or just I case I "accidentally" bugger one - it has happened before ! I looked in my 260Z Factory Service Manual and in various " How to Restore..and How to ReBuild.. your Datsun Z" to see if it had any listings of the most common - as well as the most unique and otherwise un-replaceable- metric fasteners that Datsun used when assembling th…
