Just got back from an evening with some Z's and was stuck in traffic. Going 5 mph on the beltway in my Z drives me batty.:stupid: Anyway pondered some questions about the stamping of the vins on the door jamb plates. First how many fonts existed on the 240's? Some of the numbers to me do not appear uniformed when placed on the plate spacing wise so is it machined on or hand stamped for the early 240's? Lastly are the numbers black when stamped or just silver? Thanks!

I'm just wondering what brand of shock absorbers are the most favoured by the members. I'm considering fitting new shockies to "Precious" as she's still fitted with resurected originals and I'd like to know if there are any that will fit straight in. Searching didn't help me very much. Rick.

I just sent a head out to have two broken exhaust studs removed by an EDM tech. One of the studs has a broken EZ-out in it. In any case the shop called me and left a message it was done and the cost is $300.00. I do not think I am a cheapskate but $300.00 seems out of line. I thought maybe $120.00 to at most $180.00. Has anyone any experience with getting broken bolts removed by and EDM machine and if so what was the cost. Am I correct in my guess that removing broken studs at a standard machine shop and doing a Heli-coil would probably cost maybe $150.00 tops. Thanks Z-Dude1967

I live in a one horse town and the horse isn't much more than a shetland pony. I am in need of a windshield on my 280z and was quoted $320 plus a gasket. The gasket was going to be $130. I know I can get a gasket cheaper-what is the going rate for a new windshield installed these days? Thanks, Leonard

I found a set of Jaguar rims that I really like and wanted to use on my 70 240Z. The body work of the car is stock. The rims are 17"x8" and should have no problem with clearance/rubbing. But I am not to sure as to whether or not they look disproportionately big for the car. Please give me your opinion on 17 wheels for a 240Z. If you are running 17 wheels on your S30 please post a picture so I can see approximately what it would look like. My car is going to be painted a beautiful white with lots of pearl. Below are a few pictures of the rims.

August in the St. Louis means hot. Finally got the car to the point where it can be driven without watching the temp guage closer than the road. Its a good feeling to have the whole car back together and running well. I would like to thank everyone for the help with the suggestions for the carbs, the brakes, floorboards and frame rail replacement and the cooling system ideas as well. The board here has great information when searched and assistance in the forums for additional help. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help getting things back in order on this little classic.
