The 240Z was a landmark car for the japanese imports. It came on the scene and really created a buzz in the market, and on the track. There are those who bought one and KNEW it was special and held on to it and kept it pristine. Question is, what car today is of that caliber. It has to be all of the following. New model, timeless design marketable for years racing pedigree possibilities The only car I can think of that may make waves is the new Hyundia Genesis Coupe... its a game changer car. It will change the way people view the Korean autos...Its breaking into racing, however small the scale, and it is a beautiful design. Oh and its affordable What else is there?

I have never seen a VZ program car this heavily modified (Rebello stroker motor installed after purchase, etc). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1972-1996-DATSUN-240Z-REBIRTH-MODEL-UNREAL_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ008QQitemZ180350628118QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I wonder how that will affect the value. Carl and Chris, do either of you know anything about this car? -Mike

Another exploration gone mad! The bondo just kept going and going and going. Small wonder the paint bubbled! And the pictures just don't do it justice. Yikes

My 3/70 build 240Z has no decals on the air cleaner. The car is in excellent condition and all very original (original paint, dash, interior, etc). I called dad, who is the original owner and he says it never had a decal on the air cleaner. Does this sound right? He is 87 years old so not sure how good his memory is. I have read some of the other air cleaner/decal threads and saw mention of air cleaners without decals (but no pictures), air cleaners with one decal, and air cleaners with two (which seems most common). Any thoughts on this? I don't really want to create another decal thread. I would just like confirmation that the 'no decal' air cleaner is legit. …

Hi everyone, I am new to this site, but I need advice. I love the early 70's Z's, and there is one that I'm looking at, but I have no idea what they should be worth. I know that this is very little information for an educated guess, but here goes. 1974 Datsun 260Z - This is a 1974 Datsun 260Z with an inline six. Two door, two seater (not the 2+2 model with tiny back seat). I don't have the mileage yet, but here are a couple of pictures. Any help you could give would be great. Thanks everyone!

I got my 1971 240Z back today from Maaco, In an earlier post I had mentioned that I was going to give them a "test run" and see how it turned out. The car did need one hole repaired, and some small surface dings but otherwise it was a straight forward sand and paint. I pulled off everything myself, and removed all the interior panels as well. I'm going to give Maaco an A- for the job......I have found just two issues where there is a small "spot" and one very small run, but when it gets buffed again I think it will take care of it. When I did my 73 it was over 5k, and the car looked great, but it needed more rust repair and other body work. This job set me back $1,36…

Perfect warm sunny day today here in MN so I took my Z for another fun drive. I planned on only cruising the roads around here locally but I was having so much fun driving her I thought "hhmm what the hell just a little further". I ended up going way up into wisconsin and back I also noticed when i got back that my front bumper bar was slightly lower on the passenger side so I thought "Wow gotta fix that A.S.A.P." adjusted that today as well Found that the 2 14mm nuts which secures the bumper bar to the bumper shock on the right side were loose  so I got it set level again and retorqued down the nuts good. Isn't it funny how you know you got other things that ne…

I have a few parts in piles/boxes of Z stuff that I've started sorting through to determine what I want/need to keep and what will end up being made available for sale. Can anyone help ID the following items? I think this may be a mass air flow from a 280ZX, it has a label on it that reads A31-627 420 and under that is JECS 2402 L28 I have a hose with a part attached to it, the hose has this Nissan part number on it: 27187 P8?70. I'd like to know what this is for so I can figure out what the small part it's attached to is. I have a couple brackets that I think may be A/C mounts, the have this number cast in them: 11910 P8101 Thanx in advance everyone!!

I have the original A/C. It works fine but the technician tells me that I could have a better cooling performance during the summer hot days if I would install a electric fan in front of the condensor. What kind of fan is the best and any suggestion how to hook up to the electrical system?

It's probably a biased question in this forum but being in the process of building a 240z from bare metal I have occasionally found myself thinking I would have been better off saving my pennies and buying one already done. But then I see nice restored examples for sale on the net for Aus $20000 to $24000 and questionable or unrestored cars for $10000 to $15000. Do these cars sell for this or are they "cheap advertising" prices waiing for a sucker to come along? I've always valued a good 240z at about Aus $10000 to $15000 but have things changed. It might be a totally different story in the US. It's funny I wouldn't pay $20000 for a 240z but when I've finnished mine I pro…

Hello guys.... I'm in need of some advice and lots of help...... I am not a Z-car owner at this point, though I do hope to change that when the chance arises.... In the mean time, I am building a 1/12 scale replica of a 240ZG, a large Tamiya kit. Plastic model kit, that is..Kid's stuff.....maybe.. My plan is to make it as accurate and realistic as I possibly can.....Being such a large kit, the chance to add details is large.... I have scoured the net looking for good detailed pics, having pretty good success in doing so.....BUT, I am stumped on the underside details.... Many of the fantastic re-builds I have come across, all show the chassis in a stripped down state…
