Has anyone gotten the Nissan EFAST or E-Fast software working on Vista. I got it installed/configured and can open the E-FAST program, but I can't seem to do any lookups. When I click the Model List button at the bottom, I see an SQL Manager icon flashing on and off in the systray, but the lookup fails and E-Fast displays the folllowing error: "CD Player Error". See attached for image of this error. Note that I ran the installer successsfully and installed to C:\NISSAN, created the Fast and E-Fast subdirectories under there, copied the nfastkey to c:\windows, and ran nfset.exe to point the program to the two database dirs (c:\nissan\fast & c:\nissan\e-fast). I have…

I have a love hate relationship with the BJ auctions. I love to see all of the cars, some rare that I wont ever see again, and the paint, neat customs and all. But sometimes I think it causes problems with the hobby because everyone with a basket case car thinks it worth umpty dollars "because I saw on sell on BJ for $100000." Then again, if I had one of those rare cars it drives the price up and makes my car worth more. What do you guys think?

I’m restoring a new 240Z since my last one was rear-ended while stopped at a high rate of speed. I will not tell you how fast since everyone just tells me how lucky I was. My current 240Z suffers from over tightening of bolts, and various fasteners from the former owners, and some non-matching bolts. Does anyone know of a company that is selling complete original looking bolt sets? I do not want the stainless steel I like the Cad look under the hood, the 240z engine compartment when restored properly is one of the nicest look factory original engine compartments in history.

Does anyone have info on a dual mag distributor D6F4-02 ? I have a 71Z with 280ZX (F54) motor, E31 head, MSD 6AL & Blaster coil. My option for junkyard dizzy finds here in Albuquerque are nill right now. Would like to hear any thoughts/comments about it's compatibility with my current set-up, and/or a line on something better. Which brings me to my second question, has anyone bought a dizzy from Datsun-Parts LLC on E-Bay http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Datsun-Parts-LLC__W0QQ_armrsZ1 ?

The streets finally are clean and the weather was very nice today so I loaded the battery and some tools into my truck today and went to my storage garage and woke my Z up from her long winter nap. Both me and my Z were so happy :D She roared to life again and boy did she run like a deer on the highway. Fun day today for me and my beautiful Z.

Howdy, Hope you all are having a great weekend! Doing a little work on the z today, and starting thinking of the parts that I have and what I might need. Changing out my old door panels, finally put in my "new" ron's z's clock, which works as good as it looks! Changing out the bushings on the compression rods later today. I starting thinking of evilbaying some of the extra parts I have around that I will never use, and then thought about some things I should start to gather as "spares" I need your advice, I have a series one car, and I have slowly added spares that I thought I would need. The things that I don't have are the steering column upper and lower u-joints and …

So just as I'm getting the itch to drive my Z, I got met with a snow squall today on the ride home from work. Not enough that they'll salt the roads or anything, just a little insight into life in New England, for all you lucky warm weather guys.

Where you get them? I'm from the school that everything has a torque spec, but I've found very few in the FSM or Haynes. Just a random momentary rant!!!

One of my boys ended up on this clean '73. His name is Dave, he told me he was building a Z to look like the Jags because he always liked the wire rim look on the classic Z's. But what he's done here is impressive ! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-:-Z-Series_W0QQitemZ130297529835QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090402?IMSfp=TL0904021510003r10671 ~Z~
