I've been working on this thing for so long it never occurred to me that I might finish it someday! :stupid: Today I looked at it and couldn't think of anything else to do , so I to took some pictures and posted them. Now what... Drive it? Stare at it? See if I still have a relationship? See you all at the West Coast Nationals next month!

I had a 72 Z which was sold by my x wife in about 1979. I no longer have the vin or any service records. any idea how I could locate the vin ? It was purchased from redwood City Datsun in 1972. I don't know if they are still there or if they would have any records.

I'm totally bummed out right now. I've been operating for the last few weeks under the assumption that I pulled a muscle in my back while pulling parts at the JY, and I've been taking it easy to let it heal up so I could finish up my car and drive it to the West Coast Z Car Nationals. This Saturday I felt a sharp pain in my back which sent me to the floor. I was stuck there and couldn't get up or move for nearly 2 hours. Sadly I learned today that I probably have a bulging disk. I go in for an MRI on Wednesday.......

Prices for parts on Ebay are unbelievable. Someone just paid over $300.00 with shipping for a 240 fan shroud (sheet metal). Motorsport auto has fiberglass shrouds for $85.00. Ashtrays for early cars are pushing $200.00! These prices seem a little crazy to me. Recession? What recession?;-) Mike

Seem to me like there there's been a significant increase in the number of new posters/members in the last week or two. Could this be due to more Zs changing hands as a result of the current economic conditions? Just thinking out loud.

What's the best way to remove the 'Datsun' fender emblems without damaging the car's paint or breaking off any of the pegs on the emblem? Is there any way to get at the other 2 pegs behind the wheel well from behind?

Ok guys, I just got done buying another 72 240Z!!!!! This baby is CLEAN and one of the best rust free cars I have ever looked at. It came from TX. into MO. 3 years ago and has NO RUST!!! I have pulled the carpet all over, spare tire, frame rails you could eat off of!!! I open the door and found a perfect int. head liner, carpet, doors in tip top shape and BLACK. The dash dosnt even have a stress line and is 100% with NO cracks or damage. I am talking 100% there inside and out. even the damage free shift boot. The PO had sold the car to his kid who then thought it would be fun ta rattle can paint the car light blue 2 years ago. But it's all there and free of dents rust …

Wow, I am really surprised with all the cool stuff available for our cars! Door panels, choke knobs, throttle knobs, rebuilt clocks and I just realized that someone has done Series 1 interior hatch trim!!! So, I must be missing a few things, so I thought I would ask: 1. What about the trim for the console for series 1 cars under the choke/throttle knobs? I know they use to come with console, anyone know of anyone reproducing those? Anyone else need one? 2. Glove box emblem? Have not seen those for awhile! 3. OK< oil pressure sending unit for the 140lbs gauge? 4. I know those ash trays are tough to come by.... is there much demand for those. Someone told me that …

This car may have been discussed on here a few years back as it was done for Sport Z magazine. If not, then you should check it out...quite interesting what has been done to it. Any how, the point of this post is to share the fact that the supercharger setup is all up for sale now and he "would like to get $2000 for it". Here's a link to the thread over at Hybridz, check out the videos too. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=144713
