I received the 240Z as advertised on E-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160267158525&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.shop.ebay.com%3A80%2F__%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm39%26_nkw%3D160267158525%26_nd1%3D%26_fvi%3D1 The car was not driveable. The springs in back were to short and rattled. The brakes would not stop the car. The car vibrated so badly that you could not go over 40MPH. The car was about 30% unrestored. The added paint job was awful. Paint drops were on the hood. The blue original color was showing thru. He said over 25000 in new parts, but could only come up with recipts for around 10000. I have reproted him to e-bay …

Not sure if this was posted, or if this was sold recently, but Canepa Design has this car for sale: http://www.canepa.com/inventory/racecar/Datsun%20240Z%20GTU/index.html The description has some interesting comments in it - not sure how true they are (e.g., first chassis imported to US in 1970). At the bottom of the description is the car's history - it's got quite a heritage. Canpea also have one of the last Nissan GTP ZX cars, I think it's the NPT-91. Man, I'd love to have that!

Well just got my posters back from the framer and boy they do look great! Of course I have to figure out how I am going to fit them all in my room....my mother said no to the idea of putting one in the living room :stupid: When I get them mounted on a wall I will take some better pics for ya but enjoy for now. There are a few other posters I saw I would love to have in my collection. I was just born a few years late!

Post pictures of the condition of your Z when you first got it and how much you paid. Also what year you made the purchase. Figured this would help people that are currently in the market for a Z car. Its also fun to post pictures of your ride!

Hey all, been lurking here for awhile but it's time I made my entrance. Been a Nissan guy for some time, but I may well be finding that S30 project I've been interested in for awhile! From what I can gather, 2+2s were offered in 74, 75 and 76. Furthermore, they were actually separate chassis from the 2 seaters. Am I correct so far? Some cars with a 2+2 option basically put a cushion and a seatbelt in place where the package tray would be. The Z31 has different quarter windows, but it seems that S30 2+2s aren't any different from the outside. Basically, I'm looking for a CA smog exempt 2+2 S30. Does that limit me to 74 and 75 year cars? Is the difference solely in the in…

Aluminum Polish 1 2

What do you guys think is the best aluminum polish for removing oxidation and scratches? The valve cover on my 240z has nicks all through it; hopefully they will polish out. I'm guessing I'll need a pretty abrasive polish to get the job done right.

Does anyone know of a good shop in Northwest Florida? There was a shop in Fort Walton Beach that has gone out of business, and I haven't found anything else in the area. Thought one of you South Florida guys might know someone that I haven't found.

Humor me What is the "correct" air freshener to hang from the rear view mirror of a series one Z? I've been going with the classic green tree, but maybe I should have fuzzy dice or hand cuffs?

I have a 72 240. My license plate light cover (black) is held on to the white plastic base that contains the bulbs by way of three screws. Im looking to replace it and Im being told that the 1 screw type is the same. I believe the single screw type is from later cars such as the 260 or 280. They look different, I dont know if they would fit back and forth. Perhaps some of you could help me out on this.

Does anyone have a working set of door locks with keys for a 76 280? If you do how much? Mine are not working at all.

I just bought an early 72, HLS3048925, and some misc. parts. The guy had brake trouble and parked it 13 years ago. It was slowing sinking into the ground and is rusted beyond repair. Had to dig it out of it's resting place. Almost ripped off what's left of the rear bumper pulling it out. Has a bunch of odd parts in the back. Two sets of all three gauges, new rear brake hardware, shoes, and wheel cylinders, and a little bag of lug nuts among other things. Just thought you all would like to see it. Steve
