To be correct it is HLS30-00383 and it is located in Ozone Park, NY. The seller looks familar (carcomusa). I think he may have bought that car on ebay a last year. Here is the link. The only option is a BIN of $9950. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240z-1969-240z-production-number-383-COLLECTORS-VERY-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ013QQitemZ230256924358QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW -Mike

Okay, so when I had bought my car, it didn't come with a splash pan underneath it. i bought one a few months ago and just now got around to being able to see how it goes on up there. Basically, I'm in for some "fun." It looks like there's 9 bolt holes and only 2 of those don't have bolts broken off in them. I can easily drill and tap these out though, just time consuming. Also, the fitment is off. The front two bolt holes on the side of the splash pan don't line up with their holes. A bracket for something of which I don't know what it is keeps it from getting to where it needs to be. Also, the front 3 bolt holes do not sit flush with where they are supposed to si…

I always wanted a 240Z, wound up with a 280Z, fell in love with the 300ZX Twin Turbo in 1990 when I read Motor Trend's article. I even won a $20 bet that the new Z would smoke the Ford Mustang, which was a big deal back then as I was just a kid. But anyway, I posted a video on youtube hybridizing two old Nissan ads for the Z32 over some Filter music. My old title for the vid was talking about Barbie and Ken and I think I attracted some pre-teen girls who didn't think very fondly of my participation in the youtube community. Anyway I thought some of you fellow Z-heads would appreciate it more. It combines a few ads; one where the Z-driver is dreaming about being cha…

The left side of the rear hatch on my '71 240z doesn't sit flush with the body when it's closed. I'm assuming this is a common issue with the 240's because of the single hydraulic on the left side of the hatch. Is there any way to make the hatch sit perfectly even again?

Hi Gang: Rick Lapp, a friend, IZCC Member #10474 and Suncoast Z Car Club member passed away recently. Jim Frederic and I are helping Rick's widow sell his Z's. Rick had a super nice Silver, 1974 260Z that he had owned since 1975 and equally nice White 94 300ZX A/T with about 87K miles. Rick's Silver 260Z is street stock - with 240-Z bumper swap, upgraded engine performance, S.U.swap, 5spd and NOS OEM 3.9 R200. You can see the full description on E-Bay. This is a super nice 260Z, lovingly cared for that you could buy at a very reasonable price. One that you could feel free to drive across the Country. {anything this Z needed was done, usually ahead of time}. The B…

I noticed that the dove tails that go below the latches on both doors are missing on the 240z that I recently bought. Here's a picture of the specific part I'm talking about. Would the doors close easier if I installed new dove tails? I noticed that the doors on the car are harder to close than previous z's I've owned.

Went to the shop today to visit #797 before Christmas and took a few shots. The Doors, Hatch, and Hood are just about ready and the new floors should go in on Monday. The whole project is going at a wonderful pace....and so are the dollars. The selling of the TR6 helped offset the cost, but like building a house you always go over budget. The engine is pulled and being cleaned, steamed, painted etc, and once the floors are in the engine bay and body will be painted, hopefully will have some pictures late next week. Here's a few pictures, also included a few of the other cars being restored for some of you British guys. Hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas…
