After a lot of research and feedback from this forum and others, I settled on a Direct Lift from Greg Smith Equipment in DE. I couldn't be happier with the quality and features of this lift for the price. I have posted some pictures so that you could see the process of putting the lift together.

Quick rundown... Mom and Dad are original owners of their '72. In 85, mom got the 300zx, and the 240 was retired to the garage. Between 1990 and 1996 it was hardly driven at all. In 1996 I was pregnant and needed wheels to get to doctors appointments. Without any prep to the Z other than charging the battery, I started driving it. (In hindsight, we should all be slapped for that one.) In 1997, it started to overheat a lot. Between 98 and 2003, Dad and I replaced the radiator, hoses, thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, etc. The last thing on our list is the head gasket. It has not been worked on or started since 2003, when Mom and Dad sold the house and moved everything to…

Did anyone see this listing from a Nissan dealer in NY selling a new never been registered 280 ZX 10th Anniversary Edition with 49 miles! There are 29 bids already with 2 hours left on the auction. Do you think this car is worth that much money? My major concern would be the seller ID is new with 0 feedback. Also does anyone else become leary when you see one or two people bidding up the price? It almost appears that these bidders may be working with the seller to artificially bid up the price and lure a real bidder into making a bid. Does anyone else share this concern with eBay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-280ZX-10-1980-Datsun-280ZX-10th-Anniver…

Hi, Would like your opinion on this. I know it' my car and can do what ever I want but would like your general opinion if it can help me decide. I've purchase a few months ago a nice 1970 240 Z with a low vin ...2901 It is 99% rust free so mean it's not a Canadian car. Come from California. It has been sitting covered in a barn for the last 20 years. It really need a paint job. Interior is very nice. The car is not a matching number. It have a L24 with a E88 head. Carbs a from the 1970 so are the good ones. The motor runs well but definatly need a good overview tune up to be ridable. Today, Ive been offered a 1972 240Z that has burn. The guy was working in the gas tank an…

If anyone needs seats for their 240Z here is a set that needs recovering. These came out of a 1973. I have them boxed and ready to go. Looks like shipping could be anywhere from $70 to $120 going ground. If anyone wants them add $20 to the shipping price and they are yours, or if your near just come get them. I need the space instead of the seats. I would rather see if anyone here wants them before ebay or craigslist. Randy

I am currently trying to get my 72 240Z running... It tries but won't keep running.... Plugs are wet looking...... With the ignition "Nn" I see very little spark at the points... I get little sparks when I short the points using a screw driver..... I tried hot wiring the car to the positive side of the coil without success. I am thinking I need paints and a condenser at least. All help is greatly appreciated zdisease

After spending some time searching and reading up previous threads I still have a few rotisserie concerns. 1: Will it warp the frame. (having the rear hatch; doors; fenders; basically down to the body itself) my S30 is very straight doors; hood; hatch closes with ease and lines up perfectly. 2: Do i really need a bar connecting the 2 sides. ( i'm thinking about modding 2 engine stands) 3: From reading the previous threads it seems the easiest places to bolt up the rotisserie to the body are the factory bumper locations... Anyone out there contradicts this claim? 4: any advice is greatly appreciated..

Hi all, Just thought I'd share with you the lastest issue with the resto. There are quite a few small hills to climb over that set you back days but nothing too large so far. Well, apart from the horror of finding rust and the invoiced due, yeah plain sailing really. I have new fuel and brake lines to go in. After collating all the little brackets and rubber insulators I find that I am missing four brackets and insulators for the tunnel section. That must have occured the panel shop removed the lines. As I picked up the old line they had been separated. Now I have to either find some or make some up. The parts car ones are munted. Spoke with our tool maker today and he re…
