 One side looks great, the other cracked .... what is this and how important is it to the performance of this Z ? AND if it's important, what is the impact and how do you fix it? Is it fixable?? Sorry for the multiplexed question, but we're total novice-types, who do love their Z. We may or may not sell it, as we continue to learn from you with gratitude.

We're selling our 1971 Datsun 240Z with a 260 engine shortly, and some questions have come to us about is this really a 1971 or a 1972.... Clues are appreciated. The title says 1971. Thanks :surprised

Has anyone tried them as a vendor yet? They make adjustable Camber Plates, and a really cool looking Coilover Conversion kit that lets you adjust the ride height of your Z. They use Eibach springs on the kits. Since I do SCCA rally racing, I'm looking at the coilover conversion, so I can lower my car at the meets, and put it back to stock for daily driving. www.ground-control.com http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=62/CA=93 (should bring you to the Datsun/etc menu)

I have found this description of splash pan screws on ebay. And a picture as well. It looks like these are standard Nissan parts, but I can't locate the part number to order these from the dealer. Anyone have an idea? Thanks. Datsun 240z Lower Splash Pan Bolts/ Washers - NOS

I've been searching but couldn't find a definite answer. So my 240z (3/70) emblems are mixed... the three 240z emblems (rear deck/ side ) are metal. But the "Datsun" for the Hatch and fenders as well as the hatch vents are plastic... were they ever made in metal? Also my hood emblem is MIA.. is it suppose to be metal also?

I was wondering if it is possible to rebuild the hatch lock? I am talking about the button you put your key into and push. I want to try and keep the car as original as possible and it is also so expensive to purchase new ones. There is that little metal flapper that I think keeps the weather out and mine is loose and floppy. I'm talking about the lock not parts of my anatomy. Also, the key doesn't turn. Can they be taken apart? Any suggestions? Thanks. carl

Sorry for the lousy pictures your about to see but all I had was my cell phone. Here is number 797, it appears it is waiting on some service as it was in a local repair shop. Very nice Blue interior (which I didn't get a photo). I think it's for sale....

I just bought my first engine stand to store/clean/repair the original block from a 1970. I put the stand together and after all was completed it stated engine bolts not included. My question is how do you attach the block to the stand. What size bolts do I need...10mm? Where do they bolt in, how long, etc. I'm sure this is easier than I'm making it. Also if someone has a picture please post one up. Thanks, Randy

In looking through the pictures of a recent purchase by another member, I came accross a picture that is obviously stating that these holes are not supposed to be there, but I have the same or similar holes in my core support (I will need to look again to see how similar they are). What would have been mounted here, or any reason for these holes?

The 7th annual "People's Choice Z Car Show" will be held on Sunday October 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Victory Nissan; 11401 West Broad St.; Richmond, Virginia. This is a well attended show with a number of Z's from the D.C. area as well. I'd love to see some of the East Coast members in person. Updates can be found at www.richmondzcar.com. Why not make plans for a nice road trip in October. Guy
