The pre bent hoses in my 72 are failed. The parts house lists NO parts availability on these parts. Is there somewhere to get these 2 prebent hoses that go to the heater core? Or is there a trick to use normal hose?? Thanks for the help.

I am in the middle of huge project for my friend. We have a nice 71 that my friend wants raced out. The L24 is going to be replaced with a 3.1 motor is already being machined. The interior will only get door panels and the dash. Everything else is gone, no heater, center console, diamond material carpet etc... We have brand new door handles, lock set, rubber, door mechanisms, new euro taillights, headlights, headlight buckets, brake booster...etc... So by now you are saying "what's is the point?" Here it is: send me a private message with your parts needs and I will see if I can fill it. In the next two weeks the car will be totally stripped and sent for paint so …

Hi everyone, I am in the middle of my restoration of my 76 280, and I am having trouble finding a source for a few odds and ends: 1) My parking brake cable that comes from both rear wheels and mounts above the rear diff. It worked fine when it was on the road, but inspecting it after I took it off revealed the plastic sleeving around the cable at it's "U" bend is chaffed off. Further, the rubber dust boots at the end where it mounts to the drums are utterly deteriorated. I've tried all the popular vendors such as MSA, Black Dragon, Z Car Parts in Arizona, even Z barn for a used one and all of his are in similar condition. It is NLA new. Perhaps I can just repair it?…

When I bought my car, it came with panasports installed. The PO also gave me a set of 14 or 15" slotted mags that I have seen on many Z's. I have no intention on ever using them, and would like to sell them, but have no idea how much they are worth. What is a fair price. THey look fairly ding free, and come with Shelby hubcaps, but they need to be polished. Before I hit the classifieds, thought I would ask the folks in 'the know'

Well,I took my Z out for its first real cruise. What an experience. The sounds, the sights. It was a good shakedown cruise. I checked all my fluids again, pulled the choke, and after 4 days of sitting she fired right up. What a sound. After I let the temp come up I was off. I was smiling more than I ever have after buying a new car. This car felt special, unique, and it was such an involving experience. The mechanical nature of the car talks to the driver. Of course this being my first shakedown cruise of any length, I was hyper sensitive to every sound, smell, vibration, etc. I was pleasantly surprised. 37 years this car has been on the road, and its history ta…

Just got my Sept. '08 issue of Classic Motorsport today. It has a small write-up on the MSA gathering last April, and a great article on Carl Beck's BRE Baja 240Z! Good Z stuff! A picture caption from the MSA coverage: "Few cars can claim the era-spanning good looks and thrilling performance of Datsun's classic Z-cars."

This looks to be a nice blue series 1 with the blue interior. Originally from San Diego, and now in Edmonton. http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-71-DATSUN-240Z-W0QQAdIdZ59379214 -Mike

...Well, after months of sitting I finally got the tranny rebuilt in my daily commuter, the 86 300ZX. Now, my 280 can take a break from those harsh commutes in the hot sun. She'll be pampered once again, but as always she got me by while my 300 was dead in the water. Anyway, just happy to have both of my girls running again. Z-ya.

since there is no more of this little curved hose on the market, I must find a solution. I replaced the PCV valve hose some time ago and there are some 90 degrees curves that may fit. If somebody knows if the ID would fit for this application?

Another Ebay link, but a very nice looking car, at least to my semi-inexperienced eye. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1970-DATSUN-240Z-ALL-ORIGINAL-W-49-089-MILES_W0QQitemZ300240863803QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300240863803&_trksid=p3756.m14.l1308

I commend this guy for wanting to save the environment, but I wish he could have chosen a modern econo-box small car instead of an early 240Z Looks to be an early 240Z with the 240Z side emblems, rear hatch vents, original hubcaps, Nissan 2400 OHC valve cover on what was probably the original matching numbers engine (now sold off for parts). Apart from the sunroof it appears to be in better than average condition. Anybody want to estimate what it would have been worth, before it was made environmentally friendly. http://ampeater.wordpress.com/page/2/
