Hey guys, I've got a 73 with the add on ac. The whole thing actually works fairly well but I've figured out that the expansion valve is stuck. Any ideas on where to get a replacement? Thought I'd get the parts and then do this work in the winter. Just got it working again after frying the idler pulley. Sure made driving it unpleasant here in Central Texas for a while so I am looking forward to improving it with the replacement expansion valve. Maybe I can clean the valve and fix it. However I doubt it since this is the original. May be a bugger to get loose. regards Don

Below is a photo of my car that was taken by the roving MSA photographer. I only ever see the "leaves" of the tree after working on it for so long, that when I saw this photo I was quite surprised. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. For being a "hybrid", I strived to maintain the period look.

Last year I almost pulled the trigger and bought a Maaco Franchise, the problem was Maaco requires you to work full time at the business and I couldn't leave my current business to run a Maaco. Well, just last month some local fella took my plan and opened up a Maaco here in Knoxville, TN. I went down and checked out the shop and the personel and was very impressed, so I decided to let them take a crack at my 71 240Z. They will sand the entire car, fix the valence and rust hole, and fix any other dings or spots on the car. It will also get a base and clear coat of the original color. I did all the removal of the exterior...(ok, I still have the door handles) and will…

Hey Guys, I've been fortunate enough to own not only 1 but, 2 Fairlady Zs. (1970 and a 1974 model year). I know its not as cool to you guys that drive on the right hand side every day. For us in the US its very cool especially since they are both meant for Japanese domestic market. I've decided to get rid of the 70 model. Only because it is just sitting around. I just don't have time to give it the attention it needs. I wish I was still single. I would probably have all the time in the world to pay attention to my car collection. You might ask why don't I keep the 70 and let the 74 model go. That is simple. I've already invested a good amount of money into the 74 in mo…

Well, it was fun while it lasted, but I'm pretty much out of the Z parts business. Yesterday the remains of my yellow car were hauled off. Not to be crushed, but by a guy who plans to strip it even further to maintain several other old Zs that he owns. So it still isn't a total loss yet. From the viewpoint of the guy who hauled it off, there was still some value left. But frankly, most of the good stuff was gone. As you can see from my sig below, there were a lot of beneficiaries, several of those 54 cars more than once. And I did keep a few parts as as spares, as my storage space permits. I had a good time helping others with affordable parts, thanks to all of you here w…

Check this out... I remember seeing magazine articles when I was a kid of some American muscle cars made into 4x4's, but I've never seen it done to a Z-Car. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&viewitem=&item=220238180080&_trksid=p3907.m29

How can I tell if the AC in my 280z is factory original? I have the original window sticker, but it doesn't list AC. However, the climate control panel has the "ac" setting, which was only supposed to come on factory equipped models. can anyone post apicture of their engine bay, specifically the cooling compressor and lines

Two teenagers walking up to the Japanese sports cars: One to the other, "Cool, those are Datsuns" Other: "What are Datsuns?" Reply: "That's what they used to call them before they changed the name to Toyota!" I was going to post under the jokes section, but unfortunately this is a true story! Best, Bob

We all know what we thing about the new GT-R Skyline. But what about the new 370z? What do you guys think of it? http://jalopnik.com/390264/2010-nissan-370z Will use the 3.7L V6, supposable making near 350hp, but at least more then the 330hp G37. Hope that they give it some decent torque numbers though near 300ft.lbs at least. Weight has lost some 200lbs, weighing in barely over 3000lbs! I like this new 370z a LOT. Seems like it is going to be a killer. Back to the old roots of less weight is better, but still has loads of power to back it up. Also shorter, which is a plus, but has the same interior space as the 350z which is another plus. I never cared …
