Hey guys, just quickly wanted to find the right part/model number for a Pertronix Ignitor that I want to put in my '74 260. Most of the ones I've seen say they're for 70-73 240's.

Well, I finally got all my stuff straightened out and, drove the Z today. Only on my small cul-de-sac because I'm not registered yet. But at least I can feel why I've done all this work. Thanks to everyone here for their help.

It was the first year I was able to bring a Z car to the Walter Mitty at Road Atlanta this year - and I had a great time. I met a bunch of guys from the Georgia Z car club with many Z's and a WEALTH of knowlege! I'm not from Georgia but they invited me to park my car with their Z's. I got some great tips on improving my car, and good feedback on the work I'd done thus far (I just got the engine in last week and the SU retrofit done a few days before the event). It was great to see a bunch of other Z's. Thanks to these guys for their hospitality - it's great to be "welcomed into a Z family". And for anyone who's been on the fence about it... YES go to the Mitty if you ca…

This was sent to me by a friend in the Portland area and thought someone here might be interested in picking these up. (If they're still available that is.) http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pts/666561509.html

After I get my wife to relax, I go out and ask him if I can help him with anything. In very broken english, he says, excuse me, is that your Z? pointing to my orange 240. Yes, I said. He asked, is it an inline 6? Yes, it's near completely stock, I reply. Turns out, this guy works up the road from me, and sees my red 240 on the way. He's recently moved here from Arizona and has to sell his a blue 76, and asked me if I was interested. I told him I can't (notice the word 'can't', not 'am not') be interested in yet another project right now. I told him I am a member of this board, and would help him to spread the word. So here is the word: Salvador 530 3 3 3 3617. The car is…

Here's some 240Zs that seem to be reasonably low-priced: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Datsun-240Z_W0QQitemZ160235266758QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160235266758& http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/car/663978983.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240-1973-Datsun-240-Z-automatic-california-car-low-reserve_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ019QQitemZ290226017906QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-D-E-Events-70-240-3-2-liter-So-Cal-car-no-rust-fresh-build_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ003QQitemZ130218613790QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/659963938.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymoto…

I am starting to dig into the 240 (2/71 car) and while many feel that "original is best", I am just not an "AM Radio" kind of guy. :classic: I will be installing a nice audio system in the car as I rebuild the interior. I have been a music freak forever and this car will be my daily driver. I want a nice system in it. Anyway... The car has the original Hitachi "AutoSeek" AM radio. I even have the original factory Hitachi spec sheet/manual for it and it is perfect! I have seen the AM/FM version on eBay sell between $250-$350 (one yesterday was up to $305)! That blows me away! I can take a couple of pics tonight, but was just wondering if there was a "ballpark" figur…

My A/C system has been completely rebuilt last January with a rebuilt compressor. When installed, it worked properly. Two weeks ago, I started the A/C and it was not blowing cold. I thought the system was leaking and I called the technician who has done the job. Yesterday, he came to check and he told me that the compressor is not giving any pressure which means it is already blown out. It is under warranty but he told me that he has had a hard time to fine one and the concern is that another rebuilt one could also be troublesome. He suggest we search for a new one. Anybody has a clue where I could find a new one? It is the kind of system where the rotary compressor is i…
