Can anyone tell me where to find the directions to getting to the park where the MSA show is going to be? I have searched their website and can only find the name. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Art

Carl, I was reading on ZHome the other night. I saw your paragraph on the Datsun 280ZX book that Nissan put out to introduce the ZX. Is what you said there current? Is that book really worth that much now? I got the book too... I had mine on the bookshelf for years and didn't look at it at all. I remember thinking what they did to the car sucked. It has grown on me though...:squareeye

I've had the transmissions out of both my cars recently (more than once actually, really long story), and noticed something new to me. Big splotches of red paint. Both transmissions are Type A 4 speeds. The clean one is out of my low mileage red car (7/71). The grubby one has been (and soon will be again) in my yellow Series 1, but originally came from a 4/71 parts car. The big spot of red on the left top of the bellhousing was visible from under the hood. With the transmission out on the floor, I could see the similar sloppy paint splotch on the top right of the gear case. Interesting, but not notable -- until I looked closely at the other transmission. Because while …

I was planning on taking my new-to-me 1973 240Z to the Motorsport Nationals in So-Cal next week. I have an engine and 5-speed ready to put in the car but car is still in the paint shop. They said one week and we're going on two. I was going to pick it up today and start putting the body back together (I took everything off). I got a call this morning telling me that when the painter was painting the cowl panel (they took it off the car), the top blew off his paint gun and spilled paint all over the freshly painted body!! They want to sand the whole car and shoot it again tomorrow. I should be able to pick it up Saturday but I have to work all weekend Fri-Mon. That leaves …

.....Since some of you out there keep the Z off the road during the winter, I thought I could get some input on this; My Z31 has been out of commision for a few weeks and will be until early July. The battery is dead and the tranny is shot. Should I install a new battery and keep firing her up until I get her fixed? Or can my ZX basically sit there with a dead battery until July, with no serious consequences? Yes, I was starting the car up weekly, but I guess I waited too long on one occasion, hence the battery is dead. No juice when I tried to jump it.

Ok it's time for my "new" Black Pearl to come to life, it's been stored in a heated/cooled garage since 1987. It's a low miles, one owner, always serviced till it was stored, clean machine. If it was a "carb" car I'd have a better idea where to start but it has that voodoo fuel injection. I'm going to replace all the rubber parts I can to start with, including fuel and vacuum lines. What's almost surely gone bad in the FI system? What FI pieces should I go ahead and plan to purchase and replace? What might be marginal in FI that I need to take a look at? Can you tell I'm not well versed in FI and have dodged it for my 52 years on the planet? It's time to learn. Thoughts/…

Three foot of snow in the back yard - moved it away from the shed over the past several days with the snowblower. The roads have seen many days of rain and the temperature hit 8 degrees. It's time. Finally got the first run in for this year and it was excellent. I put 70 miles on her befor I ran out of things to do/excuses for bombing around. In the first five minutes I noticed a front end wobble - checked the lugs and found I had one stripped and two loose - go figure. It seemed fine when stowed for the winter. Anyway the stud was good enough to thread an older lug onto it. Other than that she ran like a champion - perfect. Forecast is good for tomorrow again so I'm…

This could be interesting, although I don't know how valuable it might be since so many flat-tops have been scrapped by now. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/bks/638553825.html The body of the ad:

My VIN is RLS30-064858. All of the threads I've searched have had VINs starting with HLS30-. Are all of them 240Zs? Because mine is a '74 260Z. I'm trying to find out if mine is a late model or an early model 260.
