I have a number of projects going on my '73 and wonder if there are Z guys who know restoration in the area... If you are around sound off! Lets get together and work on our cars. There used to be a guy named Chris Moore but he got married and had a couple of kids so his priorities have changed a bit... I am currently trying to sort out the interior a bit. I have the carpet and vinyl kits along with the plastic panels. I will be getting the seat kits soon. I will do an exchange with Classic Datsun Motorsports for the door panels. Biggest project will be pulling the dash and sending it out to have it restored.

Yes thats right folks I for once in the 15 months I've owned my 78 finally got to drive it. Too bad it was only out of my garage and not anywhere else. I was about to take it on the street when I decided that I didn't like how squishy the brake peddle was so I'm going to bleed the brakes again. And I still don't have headlights or turn signals but what the hay who cares . Atleast I now have a chance to drive it to somewhere who has a little better idea of the electrical than I do. Hurray!

Greetings. I'm looking for a daily driver and found a very low mileage (about 30K) 1977 California 280z for sale for a reasonable price. Assuming it's had regular service and no accidents, do you guys have any thoughts on its probable utility as a daily driver? I've always wanted a Z, have some experience working on old cars, but don't want to purchase this one if I have to turn around and buy another that's more reliable for those days that the Z just doesn't feel like getting out of bed. How long do these cars typically last? What tends to go wrong with them? Thanks, Kevin

Just curious, I have a chance to buy a front bumper from a 72 Z... very good condition, almost like new. What is a fair price for this item? Thanks

I went in to have my ac system checked out, it wasn't cooling well. It was switched over to R134 in 2000. They said I have a leak in the front seal of the compressor. I looked at MSA an the compressor is no longer available. Does anyone have any experience with having the stock compressor rebuilt? I have had the car since it was new and this is the original compressor. Not bad 32 years! The other option was switching to a totally different compressor and that would be like $900.00 labor and parts. Please advise. Thanks

i had been looking into nissan's and a guy i work with bought this z with the intention of fixing it up, but never had the time. new to datsun scene, i've been an early honda hatchback lover so far. i'm clueless when it comes to rwd, heh, and datsun's. downloaded a service manual, electrical fueal injection manual, and a wiring schematic. been reading a lot past couple of days! picked it for $200 although it does not run. see the electrical forum to see the ghettoness, and help me try and get this beast running to start things off...

Again, I am looking to buy within the next year or so, and trying to find GOOD Z is tough. The best places I have found so far are on THIS website for quality used Z's. My question is this: What is the best place to shop for a high quality used Z. Ebay is circumspect, and Hemmings, has very few choices. I figure the best way to find a good quality Z is to ask around here. Any opinions? I am looking to spend between 8k and 13k on a car that can be driven and enjoyed for a few years, and that does not need a frame off restoration. Basically I want a car that I can upgrade and restore because I want to, not because it needs it. I would like to take a high quality car an…

I'm in the middle of tearing down my 260Z right now, and I was wondering where the old-timers (no offense) started and if there's a general order of how to complete your car. It's like "Great, that was easy! But... How do I put it back together?" O_o I've currently got an L28 in the machine shop, my Z is at the mechanic's place (he was looking at the L26, and found that it's shot, so it's just been sitting there until i can get a trailer to haul it home again!). My general plan is to get a 250GTO kit and do that whole thing, since I'm too poor to actually get a Ferrari XD (aren't we all?). Problem being now, I'm trying to plan out what I'm going to do first. There are the…

Saw this add on Craigs list. Cars are located in Port Hueneme, not a bad price from the looks of the pictures. No detailed photos other than two pictures each. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/car/625992085.html
