Looks like mine might one day. But even as a novice I can see small issues with it, to me it looks like a dealer prep job to make it look nice but probably still needs work underneath. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240-1972-Datsun-240Z-4-spd-Inline-6-205mo_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ019QQitemZ290215264909QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I just got this cool poster. It was commissioned by Nissan to commemorate the unveiling of the 35th anniversary 350z. There were only 50 limited edition prints made, and they were only given to Nissan employees, none were sold to the public. The red 240Z in the background looks like my '72. -Mike

Hi, I have a 77 280z with a 5 speed in it. I assume the car came with a 4 speed and the 5 speed was put into it by the previous owner. My speedometer is off by about 12% (too high as measured with a GPS). My question is, what is the easiest way to swap the speedometer cog? Can you do it from inside the car through the opening for the gear shifter or do you have to do it from underneath the car? The reason I ask is that I have the center console pulled right now as I am installing the MSA rear speaker panel kit. If it should be done from the top then now is the time to do it. Also, my car is getting the typical fumes in the car. When I pulled the center console I foun…

.......I'm going through my receipts from the last 11 years of owning my Z, and I discover that the water pump was last changed about 83,000 miles ago. I am about to embark on a 1600 mile roundtrip around the Southwest, as some of you may know. I've changed the thermostat, the hoses, and flushed out the radiator recently. Now I'm having concerns about the water pump since it's been a while. So far no signs of leaking, overheating, or funny noises. So, 2 question: -I heard these things (water pumps) can last anywhere from 50 - 250K. Is there an average for the 280Z? -I don't have my manual handy right now. Is the pump easily accesible for a roadside repair if nece…

I don't really know were to post this message I'm sorry... so I'll doit there. Hi, I'm Blaise and I live in south-west France. I'm restoring a 75' 280Z and I'd like to know somthing. Can I throw all the vacuum system to the bin? :nervous: I'm going to try and explain my situation. - I don't have (and don't want) any air conditionner system (actually all I have of the A/C is a sticker under the bonnet... ) - I wan't to keep the heating system (silly but not mad ) - I don't have any carbon canister (and don't specially wan't to buy one, I'm not selfish, I'm just a studant...). - I've got the Magnet Vacuum Valve and the vacuum accumulator tank but there were unpluged…

I was checking out Craigslist looking for a parts car and came across an ad I thought must be a typo. It was a 70 240Z in not too bad of shape for $100. I live in Phoenix and this car was in Gonzales - near Monterey - California. I figured I'd give him a call just to see if it was real. It turns out it was the real deal. The car is complete, original, and very well documented. It is number HLS30 07969, build date 8/70. It is an automatic car, as is verified by the warranty card. It has the series I NISSAN 2400 OHC valve cover. I think it is the only automatic car in the registry that came with this valve cover. The guy I bought it from's dad was the original …
