I am about to do a few things on my own to prepare the car for the roadtrip. They are very basic questions, as I am a novice under the hood. I have done the starter, alternator, theromstat, and oil on my own. So I guess this is the next step. :squareeye -When changing the cap and rotor, are there any parts that need to be greased? My Haynes manual seems to indicate that some is needed here and there around the distributor. -What should I be aware of when installing new spark plugs? Do I need a particular wrench? For reason I am weary of this. I know this may sound ludicrous to some of you. -Is an air filter and air cleaner the same thing? I'm going to purchase the majo…

I am needing to part ways with a project that i don't have time for. This car has only had one other owner besides myself and the odometer has only rolled over once and sits at 12,000. so i'm guess it only has 112,000 on it. If anyone is interested I can get some pics of the interior as well. The interior is quite nice except for a faded dash that has a cover over it. seats and carpet are top notch. the doors are in great shape but have aged. The two main problems with the car: 1. cannot get power to the fuel pump 2.needs a new tumbler for the steering column. The paint looks good from a distance but does have chips and is faded. $1,600 obo. I live north texas…

I have long been a Subaru fanatic. I am on my 6th Subaru right now a 2006 STI, that has some tasteful and effective mods... but with our new house comes a third bay and I have thought long and hard on what my new project car will be. With approval from the wife and my new 3 week old son, I have wittled it down to the 240Z. As so many of you know, its just the perfect combination of everything that makes a car a classic. Great performance Reasonable Buy In price Availability of parts Interchangeability of parts Classic design that will never age On the upswing of collector cars Racing Heritage The Z has passed all other cars I have considered for the combination of coll…

I'm looking to buy a Z to add to my collection. I found two and I'm bouncing back and forth between the two. #1 is a 1973 completely stock (aftermarket wheels) that has been sitting for 2 years. It was started two years ago and ran fine back then. No battery compartment, hatch or fender rust. Minimal surface floor rust. Original 73 carbs, dealer added A/C and it has been painted once (original pea green). The paint is faded and scratched here and there, but no body damage. The butterscotch interior is good, dash is cracked, and seats and carpets are good. Original owner will all the service receipts from day one. 140,000 miles and it's an automatic. #2 is a 1978 280 also …

Ok, so. Here is a dilemma. I have to pull the head off to replace a gasket. While I am in there, I want to port the valves for 280z valves, new rockers, lobs, and springs, stage II or III cam, new pumps all around, alternator conversion and a little electrical work under the dash. I will end up leaving the motor in the car while I work on all of this. Now, should I do that, or get a paint job first? They both are big ticket items and with the paint job, I want the engine bay painted. I will only have enough to do one or the other. I could pull the motor out myself before the paint job, but that would be kind of pointless because I wouldn't have any money to work …

Hello All I've been building a layout for an online parts store called GangLoadOParts and have some really great ideas on how to put it together using sound, music, color schemes, photography skills and other cool ideas to make it a very unigue place on the web. I really would like to get some feedback on what you all think about it as a whole. The music is Jazzy and in time I'll even have some Rocking Heavy Metal as well, (can anyone say ANTHRAX :rambo:) All with PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, Fast Forward, Rewind and Sound Controls. Well anyhow the 1st link is to the actual Parts Store with all the correct Layouts and Navigation Page and such. The Homepage I'm t…
