Is this possible? I've had my old 71 up to 120 and she was near flight - the 77 at around 121 when I ran out of room and guts. 155 sounds pretttty tall.

Sorry about this but I'm just feed up with these Bozo's selling on Ebay. I bought a coil bracket off Ebay that was replated, not too long ago. Turns out it's not for a 240Z. It's much larger and can not be used. If you say it fits a 240Z, then make damm sure it does. Not all 280 stuff will swap over and vice-versa. Sure you have this very rare part you want to sell, like a steering wheel or a valve cover. Hey, it's not rare. Rare would be a new in the box set of tail lights, or a set of 432 magnesium rims. Rare would be FIA brakes, not a headlight bucket or a set of Monroe strut inserts. I bought a new in the box Cannon manifold for triples, the guy never mentioned the ca…

A dumb question :lick:... has anyone ever driven their car without the dash in place? I am sending my dash off to be restored and want to get some internal body work completed, as well as some A/C installation work, while the dash is gone for 5 or 6 weeks. I know I need to have the harness hooked up, with the gauges hooked up (have separate set). Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290206808383&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 I called the guy and said I was from Phoenix and I'd come take a look. Real nice guy. He runs a dog rescue charity, and somebody in Phoenix had donated a vehicle (a nice Taurus). Since I would be going there with an empty tow dolly anyway, he said if I delivered the car, he would give me my pick of the parts cars. They are all rusty and in various stages of completeness, but I found a 10/70 car that has an almost perfect interior (except the dash of course). It even has the original radio and fuse box cover (minus the lid). …

But I'm looking to see if anyone has pictures of the lift points for a '73 S30 (assuming its different from year to year), as well as the points to place the jack stands. I have a bunch of stuff that I need to get done on my new Z (oil change, find a leak, fix a dented rim ) but I don't know where to lift from. Thanks for the help

Item 1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1973-Datsun-240z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ011QQitemZ320219501552QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW This clown has posted this car FIVE times now on eBay, using slightly different wording. Same pic though.. I almost got taken for $4800 for this auction last year - he was stupid enough to claim the car was in AZ - close enough for my dad to drive down to the fictitious address and confirm the car didn't exist. I've searched and read the threads in here about a/c units and coolants. I'm restoring my 72 and it has air on it now, but it's a great time to upgrade the system. From the threads, I know not to expect much out of any of the systems, but what is the best bang for the buck without a lot of modification? Should I get a 280 system or the Vintage Air, or what?

i am going to school in San Luis Obispo, CA now but home is tacoma, washington. i currently drive an absurd distance several times a year to get my car back and forth and would rather take the train and leave a car in each place. i got to thinking about what kind of car for washington (as my other is registered in CA now) that would be fun, cheap, easy to work on, and older than 1978 so i can get it registered as a collector vehicle, and get limited mileage liability only insurance to save money. I then of course went craigslist window shopping and found a relative abundance of cheap, good looking, running, licensed Datsun Z cars from the mid-late 70's. how much effort/ca…

Harbor Freight has a free-standing blast cabinet on sale right now. The working dimensions are 33'' W x 22'' D x 14'' to 22'' H. It has a 40 pound capacity and comes with 1 ceramic nozzle. It has access though the side door and has a light. It is $179. I can get it locally at the store so there would be no shipping cost. I know HF generally has cheap stuff, but this seems like a great deal. Anybody have one of these? Here is the link: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93608 Thanks in advance...

I recently picked up a blasting cabinet and wish to know what media y'all have had good luck with. It's a Snap-On unit (made by Dee Blast), large enough to do wheels, cam covers, etc. I'll be doing a set of wheels soon (Western Turbine 2) as well as whatever else I take off of the car that needs freshened up. I've researched and pretty much decided to go with two varieties of media 1) glass beads for 'finishing', and 2) aluminum oxide for when I need something more aggressive. (Some places sell mixtures of the two as well.) Do you have any recommendations here? What media that has worked well for you? And what 'size' or fineness produces good results? I'm wide open t…

It was one of those rare 68 degree days today so I decided to stay home and work on the Z. I got most of the interior finished, but still have some odds and ends. I have been working on the interior since November and now I'm on the home strectch....Crap, now I'll have to find something else to work on. This is what I would call a "Drivers" refreshment, it is by no means a show restroration. Most of the supplies came from Les, so they are as close to original color as I could get. Here's a few pictures. (it was really bright today, so everything appears VERY light....sorry I'm not a photographer) PS....If anyone else has a Butterscotch interior would you please po…
