Here is one for a Collector. A 1982 280ZX Tubo, 5sd. with 1,415 miles. Starting Bid $22K and Buy-it-now for $29K. Anyone that has attempted to restore an older Z, knows that you could not duplicate this car without spending twice that amount today. When you take your Z to a car show, what would be some good literature to display? I have the owner's manual, that stays in the glovebox, and I have several sections of the FSM (printed from the CD in B&W and bound.) What about a repair manual, such as Haynes? Or a parts catalog, like MSA or BD? Would that be gauche? I think a magazine that features your year and/or model Z would be nice. I suppose you could get a vintage magazine that features a Datsun 240, 260, or 280Z in it. thx

Just finished pulling-out my transmission today, along with the other stuff that had to come off first, exhaust, driveshaft, starter... Used a small, cylindrical hydraulic jack to prop-up the back of the engine to take the torque strain off the motor mounts. Also removed all the bolts on the stub axles, but have not yet removed them. Need to pry them off the differential side. Based on records and the look of the fasteners, only one side had ever been removed. Those 35 year old fasteners did not want to come off! Total time was 4 hours, including putting the car on jack stands and removing the wheels. Not too bad for not having lay under a Z for over 15 years! W…

hey guys i'm currently trying to sort out the route i will take on my second 240 1973. i'm trying to keep it fairly old school. think the hugger orange i've seen on the camaro's looks nice in the pictures. with most of you guys on the other side of the pond, i was wondering what the color is like in the flesh and do you think it would suit the classic s30 lines ??

I only caught the last few minutes of Pinks last night and saw a highly modified Z car blow away another car. Dont know any of the particulars as to what was done to the car or what year, etc the car was. But it was pretty cool to see the little 'ol Z blow away a muscle car. Did anybody else see the show and know about the car? Monte

Asking price is $12000. More details in the craigslist post. Not mine...just a heads up. Looks pretty sweet, could be of interest to someone here. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/557035884.html Gary S.

I think this is at least the third one recently. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Datsun-240z_W0QQitemZ120216479525QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120216479525 Sounds like it may be #305? So which looks to be in worse shape, this one or #299? -Mike

For some reason, I am unable to complete the process of placing an ad for some stuff I have. I am on a weak "borrowed" internet connection so that may be the reason. I will place the ads when possible. Until then...I apologize to the flamers. Items in question: (1) complete L28 from a '78- smokes blue FREE come and get it before I toss it. All manifolds included (removed), all brackets, acc's etc. I can post pics, but I'm sure you all know what a Z engine looks like. (4) Ansen Automotive Engineering Sprint type 14" wheels.
