I made a little thread about this car a while back, but I figured I'd make a new one to really shake some boots. I know a lot of you guys here are into keep your Z's stock, but I also know there are the lot of you that race your Z's and really beat the hell out of them. If you can't stand to see a stripped Z, turn away now, thanks. I got this '71 240Z from Dave about a year ago, got the L28 running, and drove it to a few events, and got a lot of attention. I've been wanting to build a drift car for a few years now, and finally decided to go ahead and use my Z, seeing as nobody at the track thought I could do it. Here's some specs on the car: - 1JZ-GTE (Twin turbo Sup…

This came out of a 1970 240Z parts car. I decided to put it on ebay along with some other stuff. Was this a factory part or was it offered as an aftermarket item? My impression was it is a factory part as I have seen them on other early model 240Z's.

Saw this on ebay, had to share. The car is beautiful, in it's own way, I just never thought anyone would do so much modification to an S130. I wonder how this car would be viewed at a Z car convention... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPARTAN-II-KIT-CAR-ON-1981-NISSAN-DATSUN-280-ZX_W0QQitemZ120211957259QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120211957259

I donated at Hybridz over a year ago and would like to do so here. Both of these sites, and their members, have helped me out immensely. When I go to the donating page, it appears as though the drop down box menus are a little.....fubared. They all either say 1 month or 1 year with various amounts. What is the one time cost for a 1 year donation? $50? Thank you.

I have 1970 240. The exterior handle on the drivers door quit working. It lifted ok but would not engage the latch to open. Lock works and interior door latch works. So I took off the upolstery panel and had a look. There is a bizzare looking L shspe rod with little bends and a plastic end that connects the exterior handle to another rod that pushes down on the door latch mechanism to open the door. The L shape rod dropped off of the upper latch/handle connection and I have it but cannot get my fingers or a needle nose pliers in the right positions to reattach it. Is there another connector piece or pin to hold it to the handle and how do I get in there to reattach i…

Gang~ I am a new user here and really appreciate the support! So first off, I have to thank everyone who replied to help, and specifically 'sblake01', for being a super sleuth in determining the direction in which to look for exactly the car I was working on (2 Z cars under one roof). AFM was the answer-Cheers! However cryptic the answer may have been for a complete layman (there are 7 pins on the AFM connector!), I love getting somewhat technical every now and then and using Haynes' wiring diagrams and the like to figure things out (AFM pins 39 & 36 normal open connect the fuel pump once running). A year ago I would have been like, "Which two wires??". Thanks for…

Does anyone have experience with installation and performance of the aftermarket A/C sold by MSA and Courtesy? I'm looking at the r-134a unit. Since I'm dismantling the car for painting and will have the dash out, now would be the time to do it. 1) Does it cool effectively? 2) How hard is it to install properly? (I'm a mech engr and pretty mechanically inclined). 3) Are there any issues with the design? The PO already installed the honda fan, so air movement should not be an issue. Thanks in advance for your input! Julio

Just ordered my new wheels, (as well as a bunch of other parts), from Les at classicdatsun.com. I ordered silver 15x7 panasports. Had to go with silver because the graphites are backordered. I'll just paint them as soon as I figure out the color. Les has been great to work with so far and his prices are reasonable. He is willing to discuss what he sells and we had a short chat about the cost of paint jobs and full restorations. I'm certain I'll be ordering from him again!

i'm looking to buy a very nice 75-78 4 or 5speed car. "very nice" would include a stock, clean body with very nice paint and all systems in place and working. what price range would everyone think i am in? i've looked at a number of cars and i have to admit i'm somewhat confused where the market is on these cars. i had one many years ago and have wanted to buy one for quite some time. i own other cars, mainly muscle cars, and it is much easier(for me anyway) to evaluate the market on those cars. any input would be appreciated.
