I think I found the Z emblems on Ebay but still need the center caps aswell I suppose. The rims are 14 inch P/E (Performance Specialties) Im gussing from th…

I have more and more problems to find good ignition points sets for my 240z and I discovered today that the MotorSport product is the exact same garbage as a local import resaler here. The exact same design that makes your car fire on four cylinders instead of six or don't even start. Both are manufactured in Taiwan with different boxes but exactly the same wrong design about fit and the fiber brush location. Today, I went to a NAPA store and I bought the STANDARD brand, JTP2 point set (dual points). My car now flies instead of having a hard time to pick up. When BOSH points were available, I have never had a problem with my ignition system. I have back order points from …

I will post this in the Classified ads when I get some pictures. I am parting out my 77 280z. If there is anything that anyone is interested in please let me know. I am located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. All the power train is original(engine, differential, 5 speed transmission, etc.) The head on the motor is a N47. I have a block with flat top pistons from an 82 280zx along with the head, intake, and exhaust manifolds. I also have the 5 speed, differential, drive shaft, and various other parts from the 82. The rear window on the 77 is brand new. (replaced twice when kids smashed it to try to steal the stereo.) The hood is in decent shape. I have fiberglass fenders for …

i've been wondering what the difference is between the fuel "tank" or a fuel "cell". My boss says that the cell is basically a box. But for some reason i think it's something more. Does it improve fuel delivery or something?

I spent some time today cleaning in the garage, which in my case always ends up with me sorting and organizing parts. And I noticed a couple more differences between my early '71 car (aka Series 1 or 1970 production) and my later '71s (aka Series 2). In both cases below, the parts in question from 12743 (10/70) are different than the parts from either of my later cars - 27602 (4/71) and 37705 (7/71). The first two pictures are of the glovebox lock. Note that the surface of the button of the early car is completely flat, while the later cars' buttons are concave (dished in). The pictures don't show it well, but the early car's button is also a very nice chrome finish, whi…

People ask me all the time - "what should I look for when buying a 240-Z to restore?". We all have about the same answers - RUST FREE BODY, original, un-molested, perfect dash... So I thought I'd post this one, for discussion. Just check the floorboards and frame rails... See: http://zhome.com/Katy71Z/Katy71OrangeZ.htm Keep in mind that this one is here in St. Petersburg, Florida... not the West Coast... and the seller is flexible on the "asking" price. FWIW, Carl B.

I'm installing my headlight covers (finally!!!!) and I'm reluctant to drill holes in my Z car. However, I don't know if I'd trust that double-sided acrylic sticky tape that comes with them at 120mph on a windy highway. What do you think? any one have horror stories?
