I am building some highly detailed models of classic JDM cars. Mid 70's skyline and a Japanese 240Z. Both kits have the S20 DOHC motor. I also ordered two sets of 1/24 scale Watanabe wheels. One set deep dish and one set normal. This way I car do staggered on both kits. Please post pix of these JDM cars but more specifically, the engine both in and out of the S30 cars. High res pics of the engine alone would be terrific, but I am having trouble finding them. I want to get proper colors for the block, trans, and front covers etc. I will be doing linkages, wiring and hoses etc. If anyone is interested in a replica of their specific cars for a fee, please let me know. I hav…

I have an '83 280ZX and I am going to college. I have the option of driving her from Arkansas to Utah, or putting her on a train. I drove my car an hour straight going to a car show, and she did decently, but Im not sure she would make it the full trip this far. Would it be a good idea to drive her or would it be a better idea to ship her? What are the dangers of shipping her? If it were a better, or cheaper, to drive her, what do I have to do to prepare her for that kind of a trip? And what should I bring or make sure I can afford when I get on the road? Any imput would be great =D

Being a new member, I did the customary search for a "check list" on buying a used 240. I would have thought that there would be a sticky somewhere on this but I'm not seeing it. I have come across a few things such as, checking the dog legs, main frame rails, looking under the carpet and the infamous spare well. Looking for a Z is why I joined the site, to do research. If there is no such thread, maybe some of the veteran members could help this new guy out, or point me in the right direction. With enough input, possible make a sticky with this info. Great site with great members, thanks for any help you can offer. If there is a thread out there with all this ......…

I was having some exhaust work done on my truck and i mentioned my purchase of a 71 Z to my mechanic. He said if I was going to store it for the winter than I should raise all 4 wheels off the ground to relieve the stress off the chassis and bearings. Opinions? He recommended places for placement like the rear axle and front suspension, was he correct?
