Hi all. If anyone was looking at the 240Z from Canada on Ebay, I have some extra pics on the gallery. He was one of the cars in the Northeast Z Adventure this year. A few more pics to look at never hurts. Just trying to help out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-Datsun_W0QQitemZ180177459465QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item18017745946m

OK, I bought this 1971 240Z that was 900 miles away on pictures and PO remarks. I received paperwork about a previous restoration from 1987 and alot of service records and documentation. Of course I asked about rust and the PO said very minimal with mainly surface issues. Well, here's what I have found and was curious about what some of you guys would do. I chipped away whatever this stuff is on the inside, and then chipped away up underneath and took these photo's. Is this some sort of filler or fiberglass? The PO states he didn't know this was there because he never chipped away at it......Hmmmmm. Anyway, I want to keep the car but want to make sure this isn't …

I have a couple of early 240z "Datsun" metal hatch emblems. One is hollow and one is solid. You can only tell this by looking at the backside. The solid one came from #331 (an 11/69 production car). I have read other posts about early quater panel and hatch 240z emblems with a solid chrome Z instead of the painted white Z. I think Chris had mentioned that there were two versions of this, one that was hollow on the back and one that was solid. Does anyone else with an early car have a solid Datsun hatch emblem? -Mike

Obviously a lot less than you used to. Yesterday I took a cruise in my 71 , and was delighted to see two different 240's on the road. Both drivers gave me a big wave, one guy in an orange car, gave me the "peace" sign , the other, a silver one, the guy gave me a thumbs up. I thought I could pretty much tell you all the 240's in my area, but I hadn't seen either of these cars before. Normally you could drive around here for months without seeing a 240-Z. Reminded me of when I used to own a VW bus. It's like a secret society, other bus owners always wave at you.

Greetings! First off this is a great site full of a wealth of information! My twin brother currently owns a '78 280z and I am currently looking to buy a 240z. I recently found a '71 240z that looks like it is in good shape. Body is clean and do not see any large dents at all. It is missing the bumpers, but I feel it looks pretty cool without them. What do you guys think? I called the owner and he said his son gave him this 240z and he just wants to get rid of it as he is not into working on it. He said the engine runs good, interior is in ok shape with just a tear on the back of one of the seats. The engine has been replaced and runs good. Heater box is not ins…

Sorry for the crappy quality, but since my Toddler killed my good Canon I've had to borrow my daughter's camera. Here's a few pics for those who wanted to see how the paint came out: For the record the color is BMW Titanium Silver, with the Stripes in BMW Space Gray. I'll post better when I can get my hands on a decent camera again! Thanks for the kind words earlier. Looking forward to continuing the work!

My name is Art and I am addicted to cars. Well this would be my first Z car purchase and I have yet to pick it up. Trip for flor, ida is planned for this friday. I was just wondering a about a few things that I havent been able to get a concrete answer to. If I were to go and restore this car woudl I be able to sell it for more later with a 280zx engine upgraded brakes and suspension or shoudl I just stick to all stock restoration aside from the ZG flares? The main purpose of this car was to restore it at my shop keep it around as a bit of show off and advertisment and then sell it for some profit. I ask this because not all collector cars are treated that same and regard…

I have decided to put them on my Z. Which oes are the best to get? And does such a thing exist as headlight covers without that edge in them? You know, just smooth ones? Anyway, I need some suggestions.
