I picked up the Z this evening from the shop. I gotta say, she looks positively awesome. It's not a 100 point job, but for what I paid ($3500 for a strip to bare metal, rust repair with welding, basecoat/clearcoat repaint with quality materials and mounting up my MSA Bodykit) I am more than happy. There are a couple of areas I wish were finished a little better than they are, but not for the difference in cost. The second lowest bid I got was almost $2000 higher than the shop I used. For $2K, I can live with a couple of minor imperfections--it's a driver, not a trailer queen. Driving home was my first real trip (25 miles) with the Twice Pipes installed. Let me tell…

As the traffic kept getting slower this yellow guy came right by our window so I took a few pictures. I guess there's a race somewhere. We were traveling to Macon GA, and this Z was just outside of Atlanta......

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE POST A PICTURE OF THE CORRECT COLOR OF THE TAILIGHT PANEL AND GRILL IN A SERIES ONE OR TWO VEHICLE. JUST ONE IS FINE. IT IS NOT THE SAME COLOR AS THE HUBCAPS AS SOME MAY THINK. IT IS LIGHTER. MOST CARS NO LONGER DEPICT THE CORRECT FACTORY COLOR. IF YOU HAVE THE PAINT FORMULA THAT WOULD BE GREAT. I'M HAVING A HARD TIME MATCHING THE COLOR. I KNOW IT'S A FUZZY TEXTURE BUT THAT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE NOZZLE ON THE SPRAY GUN. :stupid: THANKS ALOT FOR THE HELP. MCKRACK

Something about it just makes me smile every time I see it. Anyway is it bad I want another one? With how the dollar is trading right now its hard to not buy one... i just would need somewhere to store it as we have 3 cars as it is and our driveway/garage is full already... :stupid: i think i need to move to a house with more garage space.

As promised acouple of weeks ago I´d like to share some pics. Let me give you some background information: My "new" Z is from July 73, originally delivered to California. Since 1991 it is in Germany. Over the last 10 months we did a full restoration - and now it´s almost done. All unexpected technical problems are now fixed (half shafts, clutch master cylinder, distributor) - and I have only some minor work on the interior (door skins, ignition lock and the window frames, to protect the glass from rattling). Then I´m exactly where I wanted to get my project. It is a good feeling to have it back on the street. Juergen

Hey guys, i'm looking to buy a z car and recently came acrossed a 72. The car is free, but is in need of work. It needs the floors replaced (comes with replacments), and other body work as the car is said to have rust in spots throughout the car. The engine is a 280 bottom end with a 240 head with a cam, carb upgrade, header and exhaust. The interior is disassembled, but i believe he said it is mostly there. I still haven't seen the car so the extent of thr rust is unknown, but I'm sure its not in the greatest shape and the rockers have been effected aswell. The frame is straight and the title is clean. The roof is said to be thin aswell, seems like that would be hard to …

So I thought this would be a good thread to maybe keep going for the benefit of the Z family here. I got a box of parts that came with my 78. Some are for a 78, some for 260z, and I was wondering if maybe any regulars from the forum needed any for their Z. Of course, shipping would have to be paid by whoever wants them, but I have a postage scale, so you'd be paying only exactly what you needed to. Not sure what to do about payment methods, but maybe this isn't a good idea anyway. Either way, I'll give my parts away. This might be a good thread for trading, too, but that would probably not be too common. To kick things off, I have a speedometer from a 260z that should fi…

I have looked and tried to find the decoding for the VIN of this car but I can't find any info on it. This car 1980 RHD 280ZX is on ebay right now, very cheap thus far, and I was wondering what can be found out from the VIN above? Link to auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230187076332&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 I'd be interested in it to have a 2nd Z car, the RHD is just a bonus. also is there a way to know what rear end would be in this car or the final drive ratio?

Some of you may be aware that recently I have been stripping my yellow 240Z in preparation for rust repair and paint. This weekend that process came to an abrupt halt. Friday morning I found that the passenger floor and associated frame rail is much worse than I had thought. After taking the car to the shop where I was going to have the work done for further consultation, the body man 'thinks' that he could still patch the floor pan, if I got replacement frame rails from Charlie Osborne. More labor, of course. (Totally understandable, and I expected that.) It still might need a replacement pan, he won't know for certain until he starts cutting. Probably figure on doing th…

Good evening everyone! Wow what a great site and resource! I have always loved the Z's and just recently purchased a '71 240z "Series 1". I must say I am already addicted:) Aren't we all! How can anyone resist such a classic sports car. The Z's have so much character, style, performance, & looks! No wonder why we are all crazy over these cars. Well a little bit about me. I grew up in Oregon and now currently live in Southern Oregon...Medford to be exact. About 20 miles from the California border for those not familiar with the area. Well while growing up in Oregon my father had a '71 240z when I was young and I always loved it. He sold it along time ago an…
