I was just thinking does anyone drive there Z during the Winter. Ruby is my only Ride and I don't know if I should get a beater to drive during the winter and put Ruby in storage. Or just drive her when I can. The underside of Ruby is clean as a well taken care of car can be with Zero Rust on the framerails, or anywhere underneath for that matter, for being "restored" "refurbished" not to long in the past. Also has a nice layer of undercoating aswell, (THICK BLACK FUZZY LOOKING STUFF). The paint on the other hand has seen it's day and my plan is to get her repainted in the same Original color come spring. Which is why I'm thinking of still driving her considering I'l…

I am replacing the exterior window squegees (chrome piece with rubber attached) on my 1978 280Z 2+2. Can anyone tell me how this process is accomplished (removal and installation). I am also planning to replace the interior window "felt" pieces. I am assuming that the door panels will have to be removed for this process and some type of adhesive applied. All replacement parts have been acquired new from Motorsports. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Well a few of you asked about selling your car on eBay - I sent some info to ricksaia with tips on how to do it. I am starting this thread as I was asked by a few to share with them: ============================================================ First things first - you need to register to sell on eBay. It's a simple process, but you will need a credit card for eBay to bill you for listing fees amongst other things. I'd also STRONGLY suggest getting a PayPal account - I was a skeptic at first, but now a big believer of PayPal. It's an extra level of insurance, especially when selling a car, as funds must be verified. The down side is that there is a charge with using…

Hey everyone. It's been several months since I've posted. My Uncle passed away earlier this year and I've been pretty much taking care of his estate. This takes a huge amount of time and money. Big word of advice here...If you have a surviving family member who never married or had no children, make sure they at least have a will written up. If not, you have to go through a probate lawyer to get everything going. I know all about it now $$$. Either way, looking to get the grease back on my hands soon. I should get the rear wheel bearings delivered tomorrow. Any advice about getting the rear-diff rebuilt, exchanged, etc....please let me know. Gotta update the z page also. …

Well guys, as many told me before few mounths that I'll regret selling my Z.. YES I DO! I had some toughts of buying a 1971 corvette but it is out of my budget, besides I have to learn much about them.. since I know Z's well enough to have one, the question is, shall I go for a 240Z or a 280Z? I know the differences, but I never used a 240. is the body weaker since it is lighter? will it "twist" while jacking from one side? the only dissapointment for me will be the bumpers of the 280Z, other than that I consider it better since I always thaught that it have more solid body and EFI is reliable.. besides it has a rear sway bar. I'm not trying to be offensive against the…

I need to get my 78 up to "daily driver" condition, which it almost is, but I need a good shop somewhere near me that won't charge an arm and a leg for a possible engine rebuild or head rebuild. Anyone know of any good spots? I've normally used the same mechanic for the last 4 cars I've had, but I really want to take care of the Z with someone who knows Z's and won't charge too much. I'm in Covina, 91723, CA. Thanks to anyone who can help. Money is an issue, so maybe someone out there in Los Angeles County has a good mechanic that they've trusted their Z to. Since I just got the Z, I also need to have someone do a bumper to bumper inspection on it to tell me what I need…

Didn't the Black Pearl 280Zs have dual side-view mirrors? I recently cracked my stock side-view mirror. Argh! Naturally, the car does not have a passenger-side mirror. I would like to get two new stock side-view mirrors for my car -- and I assume the Black Pearl mirrors are the only way to go. Is this a pipe dream?

So what mpg to you get? Model, Year, any mods done? Going to get an idea of what I might get myself, as I am going to be taking my car on a 2,500 mile journey home next month I hope. After I do the brakes, suspension, tires, and a little more engine tweaking I hope to be off.
