I looking for a complete L24 or L28 as a spare for my 240Z. Does anyone have one they would like to sell, or know of a good place to buy one? It never hurts to have a spare engine ready to go.

I found a 260Z for $3250. It has less than 80k original miles on it. The guy says he bought it from the original owner who was female. (I only say that because they tend not to be as hard on cars). I looked it over and it looks like a stock 30 year old Z that was reasonably taken care of. It has the original flat top carbs, all smog equipment and working AC. In fact the only non original items I could find were the wheels and the stereo. What little rust there was appeared to be surface rust. I'll post a couple of pics from the advertisement when I get home from work. The tach is intermittent and the clock doesn't work (no surprise there). I wanted to get some feedback on…

Here are some new pix of the latest Z to the collection. 1970 Upgrades since the purchase include 16" panasports and the BRE spook front spoiler. BTW, I posted a request looking for a rear driver side quarter. I guess the thread was towed to body and paint. I figured there would be better response here since this is has the highest traffic. Please respond of you have one or no where one is. It's for the 71 restoration. <a href="http://www.flickr.…

Hey everybody. I'm going to be completely gutting my '72 240Z. I'm getting my car back from the shop it was going to get fixed, but I've decided to just start with a more structurally sound shell. I should have it back at my house next week. Let me know what you need, I'll set it aside, take pictures, and we can go from there. The items not for sale (yet at least; not sure if I need them on the car I'm buying): - Rear brakes (not for sale, just replaced them) - Half-shafts (not for sale, just rebuilt them) - Hood (not sure if I need it yet) - Tail lights (I HAVE A SET OF '73 TAIL LIGHTS AND I WILL HAVE A SECOND SET SOON!) - Motor/transmission/carbs. (not for sale) - Wheel…

I thought it might be fun to hear your opinions on v8 conversions on these cars. To me, I wouldn't do it in a Z car because to me it would just kind loose the "heart" of what makes these cars so fun and cool. Not that it wouldn't be fun to have a v8 under the hood, it would just loose the essence and feel of the car and I'm a huge fan of these of engines and these engines are part of what makes a Z a Z if you get my drift. If I wanted more power, I would modify the stock engine.

After working on my motor, I noticed that after I replaced my 4 speed tranny with my 5 speed one, that the speedo cable is just coming out of the firewall, and running over the bell housing and over and down to the connection on the tranny. It is just running under the SU coolant hose pipe (for heating up the carbs) and is loose. Specifically, is it supposed to be attached in some way, off the bellhousing? Doesn't seem to be attached to anything between firewall and tranny. Thanks in advance for reading/replying. Searches did not find anything pertaining to this subject.
