I need to know what you guys are using for engine paint. (Datsun blue) I had one guy tell me it was GM223 Plasti-Cote. Seems too light for me. Anyone else have a brand and color for me?

Evening Ladies and Gents! Just thought I'd share a few of the pics from when we got it out of the paint shop. A year ago May: Several Weeks ago: Wheels Back On and Getting Ready to Return: The car is back at the garage and we're slowly reassembling it now. The wiring is being redone with a painless harness and weatherpack connectors, the quarter windows were torn down, the parts cleaned up and reassmbled with new seals, etc. Slowly but surely she's coming together! Trying to get it finished in time for the Tulsa/Route 66 car show towards the end of November. Somehow I don't quite think that I'm going to make it... Have a great evening! Bryan Dat240…

I've been out of town for 2 months and today I decided to take the ol' Z for a cruise. However, this was not to be. The clutch pedal fell to the floor with no (or very little) resistance. OK, I figure that since it worked perfectly last time it must not be very serious, after all what can happen to a clutch when the car is just sitting in the garage? My first thought was that the master or slave cylinder may have failed (I've never had to replace either so they must be fairly old) and the clutch lines appear to be intact and there is no fluid on the floor. So, I'll just push the car outside where I can work on it - oops, it won't move. With the emergency off and out of ge…

Hmmm, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I am wondering if any afficiandos out there know what datsuns(and motors) were sold in central america? I am from Australia but have been spending a bit of time over here, and have noticed all sorts of weird and wonderful datsuns around. I am wondering if anyone knows if the L28D(and even L14 for that matter..) was common down here or not? We have none in Australia, and I know you guys in the states have a few. I doubt anyone has much info on this, but you never know... Ray

I just did a search in Parts and Accessories on EBay on '240z' like I do a few times a week. Normally I come up with 750-900 maybe hits tops. This time I came up with 1451! I have a few items in there, tail light trim and odds and ends - now it seems like there are six of everything I'm selling! A lot of the latest new ads are from 'datsunonthebeach' in Colorado. Anybody heard of them? Is it sombody going out of business or something?

I just got a 78 280z (9/77), and I am on the fence about whether to keep it or not. Of course, money is an issue, but I have people telling me that a 30 year old car is a 30 year old car, and blah blah blah it will always have problems unless you have 15,000 to dump into it.... Anyway, I once owned an 86 300zx and I had a blast in that for the whole 6 months that is ran, but it needed so much work that I finally just called the tow yard and they hauled it off. My 1970 has the vents in the hatch. In '76, I had them sealed shut and painted over because of fume leakage back into the cabin. Now that I'm older and a bit smarter, I'm trying to restore them to as original. The thing is, the inner tubes, hoses, or whatever they're called are gone. Does anyone know where I could possibly find two of these increasingly rare vent tubes? Frank

This is what I want. 5-Speed Tranny and a 4.11 diff. Now, the 1980zx is supposed to have the 5-speed tranny I am looking for, plus it comes with most of what I need for the swap into my 240z. So I am keeping my eyes out for this car that is all rusted up and costs me almost nothing. Try to save money this way. Is there anything else that I could use from this motor? Is there some kind of combo that I could use or just drop the L28 in there with the carbs and be good to go? Now for the 4.11. What kind of cars, models, and engine/tranny set ups did these appear in? See if I can find a cheap old junker of one of these. Could probably even make my money back by swappin…

I had posted about this Black pearl Z a good while back trying to find a value on it.It is a one owner Z and has been covered up for several years.I didn't see any obvious flaws and it is in original condition.the guy that owns it says he bought for his girlfriend new and when she left he kept the car. He originally asked 10,000 for it and after checking I didn't call him back and lost his phone number.
