There was and annual car show held this weekend by the South Hills Camber of commerce here in Pittsburgh. It was a beautiful day with approx. 400 cars. Of all the cars there were only 11 foreign cars and only one Japanese car, mine. As I have said before there are not a lot of Z in the Pittsburgh area. A lot of people came up to me and said who much they liked the Z and remember it from the past, one lady ask me to start it because she remembered the Z fondly (her words) and how it sounded. I started the car and she just started to giggle said thanks and walked away.

Got a set of these for my birthday and put one on the driver's side to make sure they'll be OK to drive with - the mirror is smaller and lower than stock - and I'm pretty happy with it. The mirror seems to be slightly convex which helps visibility. I had to drill a new hole to be able to mount it, but in a place where I could revert to "stock" and still cover the new hole. Once I drill holes in the passenger side though, there's no turning back! First 3 are with the new mirror, 4th photo is w/the stock mirror So waddya think???

Sorry to post this here, but I've done a search on the net and all the 240RS pages are in Japanese and I can't read that hence this....it is a Datsun so it is a relation of sorts. :nervous: Anyone have any data on the 240RS production numbers. I thought that the FJ24 engine was a special Nismo only engine. It appears not. Anyone got any ideas or info on these cars???? Cheers James

In my search for another Z, I am looking at 2-3 /week. From a distance my first glance at these Z's is exciting but the closer I get the worse I feel. These poor things are rusting away. Some of these cars have been sitting for years and it just saddens me to see such a great car rusting away beyond recovery...at least with my skills. Texas heat is brutal on the interiors too. One of these days I'll find the right one. I need to take my camera along with me on my search. Document these cars.... Anyway- it's sad to see great cars just dieing a slow death.

Maybe I'm the only that didn't know this, but I didn't know Datsun made a ski rack for first generation Z cars! At first I thought it was in the wrong section, but then I saw the picture of it mounted up there and was surprised! That's pretty cool, one of those types of things that would be fun to display at shows! I know I havent posted on here for a while been really busy. But anyway I was just wondering how much a 78 280z goes for I am trying to sell mine it still runs like a champ but I dont think it will pass smog over here. If anyone has ever read any of my posts you would know what it looks like and how much I put into the engine alone. There is also no rust except the part under the rear hatch which is about 4" of rust which can be fixed easily.

I couple of months ago I was on zhome.com and noticed that the person that owned #331 only lives about 10 miles away from me. I contacted him and found out that #331 was for sale along with two early parts cars, #882 (a 1/70) and 10,xxx (a 7/70) along with a lot of parts, including a crack-free series one dash. I went and took a look at everything, thinking I might be able to make a deal for the dash, and just some of the parts. #331 was accurately described as being very rough, and I thought I might even buy it and part it out, since it had some 1969 parts that I need for #237. So last weekend I made an offer for all three of the cars and the parts including the das…
