I have the key shown below.. it works to start the car but does not work in any of the locks.. did this car have 2 keys? one for ignition and one for doors, trunk? or do i need to wiggle giggle it? or will locks on work when doors closed and is there a special way to lock trunk??

apparently the vacuum advance does not work on the 280zx matchbox dizzy i just put in my 260.. is that ok? i have been told car will run fine without it and some guys dont even hook it up... when sucking on hose nothing happens - when the mechanic did that.. what will effects be without it? can i change the vacuum advance ? can i fix it?? thanks

Would anyone happen to have access to measure the height of the battery support shelf from anything fixed, like the front frame rail? Also, the clearance to firewall? Mine has been removed twice and I'm no longer certain where it should be.

my latch has no click stop to it.. it just springs back and forth - therefor will not keep the door closed.. can this be fixed if i take it out of the door?? any pointers on it?

Can anyone recommend a good cheap after market pump? can this can run on just the mechanical pump? if so do i need to eliminate the electric pump and fuel filter from the area near the tank? or can the mechanical pump pull gas through a non working electric pump? i will take it out and test it - just by hooking up to 12v battery.. if it works, are there relays in the passenger foot area and if so how many and what panel are they behind/ color. does anyone have photos of the stock pump and filter they stuck back there, and relays/fuses??? how can you tell this pump is running as i think it only goes when car is running.. thanks

I have been informed it looks like my dizzy was put in off kilter. not put in properly.. can someone explain to me how this happens.>? should vacuum point to front of car or drivers headlight? does it need to be flipped around? re adjusted? wrong dizzy? mount to engine on wrong? i was also told that this is caused by the oil pump gear haft/rod put in wrong. but how does that change where the dizzy sits?? i have looked in the fsm how the dizzy goes on but it does not show how it goes on the mount to engine. this car has never sparked so something is messed up here. any help would again be great.. they previous owner had all plugs lined up from 6 at fan and 1…

I found this under my passenger seat in my 73 240z. Is this part of the seat belt warning system? If so how do you I reconnect it if I choose to.

What am I missing here? Is it a piece of rubber moulding? Is the bumper I have too short? I bought this Z (1973 240z with 10/72 build date) from original owner a year ago and have worked my way out to the front and rear cosmetics. I see some Z's with bumpers that extend neatly into that cavity. Mine doesn't.

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could help me out her. I have a 1972 240z that I'm planning on installing a 1982 280zx close ratio transmission with an R200 out of a 1988 SS 300zx VLSD dif. My question is and probably a few folks have asked this before is what drive shaft or propeller can I use? My car already has a t5 transmission from a 280zx turbo and what looks to be an R180 or R200. I does have the half shafts... Any help will be highly appreciated.

Can this unit be tested? are there any after market units i can get that will just plug in? does this look fried? i get power to coil but cant get spark, is this the culprit? thanks

Lets try this again. I have now wired up the ballast and coil as per manual. i get power only to the black/white at the resistor and when all wired and key on no power to the coil. is this an ignition control unit issue? what should happen when i try to start the car? should power then go from the resistor to the coil?? why would it not? bad ICU? need some help here!! looks to be wired correct??? blue to neg blackwhite pos..
