So I just got my 260 with a "new" l24. I will be getting into it this weekend but I thought I would post some pictures and see what you guys thought. I may be in over my head but I uess I will find out. It has not been driven since 88 and used to run great. Although it has been kept in a garage since then I see surface rust. Oh well, I just hope you guys like me cause I will have to spend plenty of time here asking questions. For your viewing enjoyment, here are the pictures of my zcar endeavor.:nervous:

I spotted another 240Z while crossing the Benicia bridge on my drive home from work last night. Blue car with black/charcoal Konig type wheels. Nice looking car, awsome exhaust note. Was that anyone from this site? Steve

My transmission was making a loud whirring sound that only got louder as the RPM's got higher. I took out my transmission and took it to the transmission specialist, it had a bad bearing inside near the front of the transmission. Rather than just replacing the bad bearing I decided on getting the whole thing rebuilt. I got the rebuilt transmission back yesterday, put it in and the sound is gone. It feels and sounds much better.

Well I bought my Z ('76 280z, F54 block, 5spd, factory a/c removed)from Florida this past winter (dec 30th) and I didn't think to ask about the heater. On my wonderful drive to Ontario, Canada (the people north of you, eh) I thought, hey I should turn the heat on as it was cold. well air was coming out, but i can certainly tell you it wasn't warm... so all in all it doesn't bother ME per se, but my wife on chilly evening drives home kind of curses at me that I have fixed it yet so she can be warmer. 1)where would one start to dianose the issue of no heat into the cabin? I'm not sure if it was intentional as the owner was a Floridian and didn't need it, or whether its ju…

Another "rare" Black Pearl Z showed up on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140140951737&rd=1&rd=1 Along with some obvious errors ("extended hatchback") he does mention a low build number. Anyone know what the real build quantity was for the 1978 Black Pearl edition?

This is weird. As each day goes by I dislike the 350z. Their 3.5L is in almost every Nissan car, and the 350z is starting to look like everything else. The Infinite G35/37, Altima, and even the GTR. They are all like the same car, but with different motors pushing different numbers and different drive setups. I want a Z car that is special and different looking. I bet that the 2008 Sentra if there is one is going to look like all the others. Test drove a G35 and it is sweet. Gripped like crazy. Can't wait till the G37 comes out. My buddy is looking for a car and I hope that he either gets the G37, Challenger or SRT8 Charger. I wanted him to get the BMW 335i but he…

considering what the passenger door hinge looks like, i wonder how much "surface" rust there is on the rest of the car. let alone what the undercoating might be covering up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Datsun-240Z-797_W0QQitemZ330148598459QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Just something to check before buying it at even the low buy it now price.

Ok so I purchased a 1973 that ran and was in fairly good condition, it needed some paint and minor rust repair and that was it. The car was fully complete and ran very well. I began stripping the car with the intention that if I wanted to paint the car I would like to have it done correctly. Then I eventually gained the mindset if I was stripping the car I might as well do everything there is to do. Then my summers began to consist of full time jobs, then I left for college. Now I am approaching the breaking point, my father tells me that I need to rid the garage of the project because I plan on not living at home next summer. So here I am with a completely st…
