Lightning - Nippon Vintage Auto #6 came out a few months ago with my roadster featured in the Z car theme special section. You'll note the major error in the listed year of my car! I guess we had a comunication problem, as I spoke no Japanese and my interviewer spoke little english! http://public.fotki.com/DatsunVic/my-roadster-article!/ LINK FIXED - Thanks WingZr0 You may want to check out the entire photo site http://public.fotki.com/DatsunVic/ There's been a few more additions you might not have seen yet. Hey guys, I ran the 240 today on a 30 mile ride, and as some of you know I recently flushed the radiator and put in a new 180 t-stat....(couldn't find a 160). Anyway at several red lights I snapped these pictures of the temp gauge and wanted to know if this would be a normal reading. The last photo is after I had been sitting for at least 2 minutes. Is this still too hot, or do some of you get these readings. Thanks for any info.. Randy

Hello I used the search function and came up empty. I was looking on Ebay and Came across this nice looking 1977 280Z that was sold and was checking out the photos. Question is, Are the Recessed part on side of the front and rear Quarter Panels (where the bumpers touch) the same size on a 280z as on a 240z? Or is the Recess in the Panels on a 280z larger cause of the bigger bumpers? Also I don't know what it's called but whats up with the Chrome Rocker Panel Strip? Was that a factory piece or dealer installed option and can they be removed with much sucess? Personally I think the 280z bumpers look better if they were switched out for 240's, although I know thats…

I was curious how many of you have registered (who live in the northwest) their car in the Datsun Driving Canby fun event? The reason I ask is because the registration ends May 10th. My dad and I are hoping we can do it this year. We learned about it from the Golden Gardens meet from a friendly 240z owner. Any how, if we can't make it this year we'll for sure make it next year and would love to see some of you guys and your cars who live in the Northwest!

Hey all, Nice to see a bunch of you in Canby as we dodged the sporatic rain, it was fun! I noticed that Bruce mentioned an event that is this Saturday involving a trek with the group to the beach from Banks and some auto x action there... Is anyone thinking of joining up with this? ~Brian

Hey, A buddy of mine knows nothing about z's and has no inclination on maintaining it. When I first got my, '73 before the restore, we used to tool around a lot. Now his sits. He is not too pasionate about it, so he is thinking about selling it. It has not run in about 1 yr. I know all the things about getting it started. It has very little rust and used to run like a top. The interior needs work. Now the question. What would a 1975 280z. Original - completely, not running, but I can fix. The AC works, or used to a yr ago. Did I say original - green, surface rust only. Should I pay him the $1500.00 he wants for it, or finish my '73. I just need to replace …

One of the finest examples I've ever seen. Nice job. You looking for another project?

Hey everyone, long time no post! (and for those who may remember my dilemma of several months ago... long story short: I had two potential buyers, couldn't sell the car, still have her, she's no longer for sale... been a VERY long 4 or so months for those and a few other reasons, but really glad I kept the car, so thanks to those who encouraged me to do so). Aaaaaaaanyway... looking ahead, I am starting a new list of projects for the car but it has been tough to prioritize as my wife and I are planning a family, and I am going to need to pick up a third car at some point, which affects some decisions. I was looking at maybe picking up a parts car when something occurred…

Hi everyone, I haven't posted here in a while, but a daily visitor. After 3 years I finished and sold my mustang http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Ford-Mustang-Beautiful-Car-Low-Reserve_W0QQitemZ160125073381QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6236QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and want to start looking at z's again. Everyone thinks I'm freakin' nuts to go from a 69 mustang to a 240Z. They don't understand. I just smile. I owned my last 240 in 1978, been wanting another ever since. I saw this on craigslist and was wondering if anyone has seen it or is close enough to see it for me. Long distance sight unseen scares me, and I would love it if an expert from this site saw it and gave me his/her op…

Filler Cap... 1 2 3

Ok, I am about to scream... Every time that I corner hard to the left, I get gas dripping down the side of the car and fumes from hell in the cabin. These caps can be sealed, right? As in, they are not vented? Can you get a replacement cap? I am sure that mine is not sealing (obviously) and I was curious to anyone that has fixed this issue. I am also getting fumes inside the cabin when the window is down, I have sealed the trunk hatch and now I will check the gaskets around the tail lights, the fuel smell is about to drive me nuts. I get used to it and when a passenger gets in I get that, "your car smells like gas..." line. Good thing my brain cells are already toast…

Ok here goes, those with mechanical skills please don't laught too hard after reading this..... I just got my electric fan from Black Dragon today and after opening the box I am totally confused. It states "Puller mode" position against radiator. Puller mode I'm assuming will go on the rear of the radiator..ie, near the fan clutch, right? So I need to remove the old plastic fan and fan clutch right? Does anyone have a close up picture of their electric fan so I can use for refrence. If so can you also post a picture of how it's wired. Any help would be appreaciated. Randy...(the mechanical Rookie)

Driving through Brevard, North Carolina the other day and I spotted this hiding behind a shed at a less than reputable used car dealership. I pulled up into the business next door to snoop around and found the car unlocked, so I popped the hood (who, among us, wouldn't?). The interior is shot. Horrible. Disgusting. MOLDY. The car has all the original glass, unbroken-no chips. Body wise, the hood shows a little damage where someone forcibly removed the Z emblem (bast- ards) The engine looks complete, turbo and all. In my haste, I didn't take a photo of the VIN, door jamb plate, or engine bay plate, sorry. The vin starts with the HS130, so I am pretty sure it's a 1980 m…
