I pull the choke back about 1/2 way and she starts just fine. If I drive her right away she will buck a little and run pretty rough. After she warms up she runs great, idles at about 800 rpm. No choke needed to restart. Some of the modifications I've done: MSD 6AL ignition and blaster coil. Which made a huge improvement. 81 ZX distributor with the 12-80 module. The carbs are Ztherapy rebuilds (about 7 years old and +-30k miles). Mild grind cam with a 270 duration. Done by delta cam. No clue which needles are in the carbs. I'm trying to improve my idle while the engine is cold. I feel I have to baby sit her while she warms up. Giving a bit of throttle every now and again, …

hello, i am currently entertaining the idea of buying a 280zx for $200(aussie), i havent looked at it yet, but my mate said shes pretty rusted. i already have a 77 260z, and want to get some real performance out of it. now what i was thinking is, buy the 280zx do some work to the engine, turbo it and all that jaz, then once if got it all ready, drop the engine straight into the 260z. now before you guys start yelling at me and saying "just buy a L28ET dumbass" remember, i live in australia, and have only ever seen one L28ET for sale, and it was selling for 13k. i dont have any real details on the 280z engine wise, i dont know what head or block it has, but i doubt it has …

so, after i repainted the booster, the next logical step was to put it back on. i know the firewall is still dirty, but i must have it out side to degrease it. while i had the booster off i redid the paint on the frame rail. some moron spilled brake fluid every where. the rail was just covered in very minor surface rust. i spent about 3 hours to tape and remove what i could.( i still missed a spot, damnit) the green is a close match just with out the metallic flake. i didnt think was to bad for some crap bought at lowes. i think this car sat here in ohio since 95. probably in a barn or carport. the frame only has some surface rust. and not much of it. my origin…

I just bought my first Z, a 73 240. Which is great because I have wanted one for years and I finally found one in decent condition that runs, etc. OF course it needs some work... The A/C system needs to be repaired, I think it has been converted/ replaced recently...but I'm not sure THe compressor has a manufacture date of 12/98 and the dryer has a label that says that it is compatable with either r12 or 134a. I can find out any info I need aboyt what was done with it because I am the third owner and the second owner had it for 6 years, only did paint and body work, but had purchased it from his mechanic and I got the name of the shop...SO I'm not worried about the AC s…

FYI- A neat way to put a temporary stop to small holes/ leaks in your automotive radiator is to add an egg or two ( mostly egg-whites) into the radiator: http://www.4x4review.com/tech/radiator.asp You can learn some meat things watching Mythbusters! thx
