Hi all, First post! Hope everyone is safe and healthy at the moment. I'm looking to purchase my first 240Z (a '71), but I'm on the other side of the country and would love to have an inspection done on the car before purchase. Can anyone recommend a shop or early 240Z expert that could look the car over for me? I'm of course happy to pay for time and expertise. Apologies if this is in the wrong forum— I wasn't sure where to place it. Many thanks.

OK guys; what's going on here? Passenger side perfect, driver side way off. I got everything on loosely and then attached the passenger side bumper end bolt. All the body panels are straight; everything lines up except for the bumper on the driver side. Car has never been in an accident. Both bumper brackets are identical length and profile (I checked). I tried swapping them side-to-side; no difference. The bumper brackets are all the way back in their slots behind the grille. If I really force it, I can move the driver side bumper end close enough to fit the bolt, but it would be under some massive tension (would pull on the b…

Is it just my 76 Bosch fuel pump that sounds like an overworked drill pump or do all pumps make this much noise? Rubber insulator is intact and pump is isolated from the frame. I will try and get a video of it soon.

I'm very new to the Datsun world. And I need to buy fuel lines from the tank for my 1980 ZX. I've been to Zcar source and Z car depot and some others so far with no luck. What is the best web site for me to go to? I would like to get the rubber filler neck most badly.

Hey y'all, it's Calvin, I was active here for a few months back in late 2018, if y'all remember me. But now I have a couple years of mechanic-ing under my belt, and some well placed investments in crypto have propelled me to be on the lookout for a 280z. I was watching craigslist, seeing some nice ones come and go, but hopped onto facebook today and had a quick look, and found this 240z: (link to the fb listing) FB description: 1973 240Z for sale! Triple Delorto Carbs, numbers matching engine. 5 speed 280Z transmission, aftermarket sunroof, no leaks. Factory Air conditioning. Runs and drives great. No rust issues. Datsun competition steering …

It is a sad day in my life. I have decided it is time to part with my 1976 280Z 2+2. Also losing my 2008 LR3 due to jumping timing unless I can find someone to fix reasonably. I am having a real difficult time determining a value/price for my 280. I know that this is almost impossible to determine based on actual condition of the vehicle. Just looking for some decent advice. Car details - 80,000 miles - Mechanically good - Average paint job no where near show quality 7/10 - Interior probably a 7/10. Seats are really good but the carpet needs to probably be replace - Persimmon red exterior and black interior - Small amount…

As some of you may remember, I have been enlisting assistance in finding Norm from Zeddsaver. Well, you will never guess who called today! Anyway, Norm was called out of the country in March on a family emergency and returned a couple of days ago. He remembered the parts he owes me and is sending them out tomorrow. As I have always said in every post I made looking for him, Norm is a great guy, and I have enjoyed working with him. I'm glad he is okay.

I’m searching for a hand throttle for a 71 240z, we all know these engines are cold natured and I’d love to be able to set a hand throttle vs sitting in the car for 10 minutes while it warms up. Just wondering if any of you guys may have one or have come up with some DIY solutions. Thanks, Tom

Does anyone have experience with getting rid of the Vapor Vent Line / Carbon Canister on a '74 260Z? Can I just cap the line back at the vapor-liquid separator? I'm switching to early SUs with K&W air filters, could I could just run the line into an air cleaner? I'm determined to clean up under-hood and get rid of all the hoses, pipes, coolant lines, air pump and other assorted BS that I don't believe worked well or for long in the first place! Any suggestions appreciated!

I searched for a solution here, and unfortunately the title is the only way I know to describe it. See pic below: Does anyone have any tips for how to secure the choke cable sleeve in the lever assembly? I thought about JB Welding it, but I don't want to risk getting JB on the cable itself and gumming up the works. Thanks all.

Hello i hope it is permissible to post Wanted Parts in this section. I looked in the Wanted Parts section and it did not appear to be getting much attention. I am looking for a set of Topy steel wheels for my 1972 240z. 2/72 date code or slightly before would be a bonus. Something on the east coast would be nice to reduce shipping costs, although I would not rule others out. I secured a nice set of hubcaps, now I just need the wheels. Thanks Jim
