Hello, newbe here. I have searched the site for a "buyers guide" but to no avail. A customer of mine has a '72 240z that has been stuffed in a garage for 15 years that I am going to look at after work today and I beleive I can get it very cheap if not free. Automatic trans problems when parked years ago, got it ignored. I had just a glimpse of it the other day and it looks to be in very nice shape and the odo reads 73K or 93k, I couldn't tell through all the dust on the windows. Anyhow, Is there a "buyers guide" for 240z's ? ie... -places to look for rust -more desireable model/engine -electrical/mechanical peculiars -parts availability Very much appreciative, Roy

Yo everyone ! Theres a ZAP Z hood on ebay. It's sitting on another Z but maybe the seller will part with it if anyone is interested, or maybe even have the Zap Z itself laying around in the yard somewhere! heres the link and photo http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-Datsun-280Z-49k-orig_W0QQitemZ330110405893QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ~Z~

So it was an incredably windy night last night, with gusts up to 65mph, sustaining winds around 40, and it was snowing. The power was knocked out for about four hours, and I could feel my little trailer like house moving in the wind. With no heat, with no light. With every gust of wind, I hear (and feel) the thud and rattle of branches and limbs falling on the roof, only to slide or be blown off. I am just thankful that I rent, and I will not be paying for a new roof anytime soon. And then I hear a long "Ca-rasssh" and I think "lucky me, that didn't land on the house (I have large trees all around the house)." I ponder the size and location of the tree that just f…

Driving my 240Z about 1,000 miles one-way in May to do the Tail of the Dragon event and after doing my spring repairs and upgrades I have only to tune and dyno it before I'm set to go. I've replaced the inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, front and rear control arm bushings, got an alignment, tire balancing, installed big front brakes, more aggressive rear brake pads, new wheel bearings, replaced the clutch, changed all the fluids, rebuilt the EMI camber plates and corner balanced the car with me in it (49.2 %-front 50.8%-rear). I started to put together things to take with me and was wondering if anyone had a thought on my selection: 1) cellphone 2) AAA card 3) tool …

After participating in the Middle Tenn Z Car Club Z-Attack yesterday with my daughter along it seems she has taken a real interest in the 300ZX. This subject is a little off-topic for a classic Z forum but I thought I waould ask members for links to reviews, factory specs and other info. I'm looking at '90 or '91 300ZX non-turbo automatic. Also, any one here who has owned on these cars that would like to give pointers and/or advise - please do! OBTW - The Z-Attack event was fabulous! There were a lot of really nice Z cars from all generations. Thanks.

Well, activity on #248 has gone from nothing to light speed in a matter of one phone call. I found out that my painter is going to get me in as soon as I can get the shell over to him.....so..... Today looks like an 8 hour strip job - most of the shell was stripped when I purchased it, so it's just a matter of the front and rear suspension, doors, hatch, glass and some interior bits. Tomorrow it heads off to the stripper and then to Gary over at the Hack Shack (thehackshack.net) and 5 to 8 weeks later, paint should be done. Which brings me to my cry for help. I'll be dropping off all of the suspension bits for stripping and powdercoating and need to start collecting rub…

I have the factory bra cover for my 1973 240z and I was just wondering if these things are pretty hard to come by? It seems to be in great shape but I have no idea how much it would be worth. Any ideas?

Mike from Whitehead Performance in Toronto called me today to remind me that April 21st is the annual swap meet for Ontario Zcar club. Theres a link to it here: http://www.ontariozcar.com/eventz/EventCalendar/Swap%20Meet%20Notice%202007.pdf If youre in the GTA, this is a great opportunity to get parts or unload some spares. Get there early. Zak
