Hello I was wondering if any one has seen these kind of heat vents on a seriers 1 S30 Z hood before? I thought I've seen these before but I'm not sure when or where. I've been eyeing these for awhile and I'd like to buy them but can't afford to right now and would rather get the vents only as opposed to the whole hood and shipping price for such, so really I like to know if there's a chance for me to find them later on maybe. Would like to use them in one of my Design ideas this summer for the Z show I hope Any help would be appreciated guys ~Z~ ~Z~

ok, you're gonna have to forgive the car novice, but I've noticed a discrepency between car weights for the 77 280z, on a thread in this website someone stated the weight was 3185 lbs, where as on edmunds.com they state the 75 and up (including the 77) weighs only 2875lbs. What is the actual weight of the 77 280z, and what did they add to the car apart from the heavier bumpers to bring it up to that weight compared to the 240z? thanks for thy patience J.

anyone ever try this? my 76 is super clean, even the fuel tank looks new, except for a huge dent on the left side of it. i was thinking of droping the tank, removing the float assembly and using a large wood dowel to try an pop it out from the inside. thoughts? thanks tony

Well, after a year of not even logging in and basically starting OVER in the Z world, I have returned. After landing mine on the lid over the 12 foot drop due to another IDIOT driver, I was out of the scene for a bit... And yes, it's always someone else's fault, right??? What can I say? Once the Z pathogens get into the blood, it's at the very least, terminal. I've thought of another Z for a long time, somehow the 1/18 scale is just NOT cutting it. I started surfing craigslist about 6 months ago for another car, just kinda lurking about like a vulture if you will for another Z. I have found a potential candidate and who knows, it could be in the garage in the next …

Thought this was interesting. If anyone wanted to get into racing, this one seems complete. The BIN price seems a bit high, considering the use and subsequent neglect, but who knows... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-280-Z-1981-GTU-GT2-CP_W0QQitemZ140088278739QQihZ004QQcategoryZ80766QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

i cant decide what to do here. some input would be nice.( i have trouble making up my mind on anything) i have a 77 with a freshly rebuilt stock 2.8. it was rebuilt at a nissan dealer with only new nissan parts. everything in it is new.(cost was like 2800 in parts) then i have a 73 with f54 block, su's, header.(unknow miles) i want to make the 77 in to zg, so triple carbs are must(even though i prefer efi). so do i use the new motor, or just pull the 73 motor and use it. (i would put a stock 73 motor back in the 73 and sell it, its very clean). i would have to pull the head anyway to port the hell out of it and slap a cam in it. the f54 block already has the flattop pisto…

People, I need to make a decision. Here on the West coast, I'm not getting any interest in my yellow Z at anywhere close to what I have in it in parts alone. If I'm lucky, I might be able to sell it for $2000 out here. Can some of you folks back East look at the pictures and description in the following links? Tell me (honestly) what a car like this is worth in your part of the country. I need to decide whether to sell it here for whatever I can get, try to advertise it on craigslist in rust belt towns, or mess with eBay. Description More pictures All opinions are welcome!

I was curious if you guys agreed with this? The Z-man's Driving Tips Driving and maintenance tips for your L engine z car 70-83 These are a performance engine and should be driven differently than a lot of other vehicles. Numbers 1 - 3 apply only to manual transmission cars. 1. Never operate the engine under 2000 rpm in any gear except fifth (see #2) (except when you’re under 20 mph in first). 2. Never operate the engine under 2500 rpm in fifth gear. 3. Never shift before 3000 rpm. 4. The power band in a stock L engine is between 3000 and 5500 rpm. If you’re below 3000rpm, down-shift into a lower gear for more power. 5. It does NOT hurt to take the engine up to 5500 …
