I'm considering buying #237 and was wondering if anyone in or near Linden NJ could check it out for me. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/datsun/240z/403348.html The seller has sent me lots of other pictures and I can post some when I get home. It looks to be mostly stock. Non orig items include 5spd, steering wheel, radio, carpet on trans tunnel, radiator fan, etc. The vehicle was supposedly "restored" about 6 years ago. I am dealing with an employee of the sister of the late (original) owner, so they don't know all the details. The car has supposedly been stored inside and started and moved every 3 months or so since the restoration, but otherwise not…

I was heading out to one of my sites and saw a Le Mans Sunset S30 headed the other direction. I remembered your paint thread and saw a lot of similarities (same wheels, no front bumper, etc.). It looked quite good (if that was you) driving down the road.

On most all of the 240z's that I've seen have some type of foam wrapped around what appears to be the fuel lines with zip ties it looks to be. I haven't noticed this on any of the fi cars, so I assume it must have something to do with the carburators. Please excuse me if this is a stupid question. Here's what I'm talking about for reference

Well I'm on a mission to "make" a 240Z A/C. I know that I can use the condenser, dryer, and compressor from a ZX so that stuff im not worried about. The problem comes with the evaporator, mostly because datsun didn't make one for the US 240Z. Here is what Im thinking, If i pull an evaporator from a sentra or civic or escort or some other kind of small vehical then I should be able to make an enclosure for the evaporator that I can fit behind the dash. I know that the 280z evaporator wont fit because the dash is a different size. I want to know the dementions of the evaporator in the picture (circled in red). I got the picture from one of the members on here (he post…

Hey fellas, I hust finished parting out my baby that I've owned since 1996. Rust was the main reason for the death of my 85rx7. The only thing I have left are my 17" CCW wheels. I've always liked the way these cars looked, and I've seen some real nice flared ones with CCW's. I'm thinking of adding some flares and using my wheels. I think we use the same bolt pattern (4 x 114.3) correct? my rear are 17x12 with 4 1/2" back spacing. I might have to send them back to Jon at ccw to reduce the outer lip by a few inches. I have alot of questions, but since I've been a member of RX7club since 2001, I know to search before I ask. I'll do some reading, and get back to you guys lat…

I have a 72 240Z with and 280 engine. It currently has a dynomax muffler which sounds pretty good at wide open throttle but, (to me), it has a crappy deep sound, especially cruising on the freeway. Im looking for a little lighter, "euro" tone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!

This damn winter season has been SO long and I'm so looking forward to another fun late spring/summer with my Z. I took a run out to my other garage today where I keep her safe during the winter months and went to check up on her. I popped the hood to just make sure all was well with her and as I was looking around under the hood, I noticed a blue puddle of washer fluid on the ground so I thought hmmm that 25-30 below 0 temps we had last week must have taken a toll on her fragile original washer fluid reservoir and sure enough :disappoin Makes me wish that garage was heated but oh well. Anyway I learned that from now on when fall rolls around and I have to put her away …

Hey all, first post. I'm a new driver and I just recently acquired a 280Z. My Dad got it for me as my first car, and Im going to restore it and use it as my car (of course) and as my gateway into the awesome world of mechanics, something I've always been interested in. Always liked the Fairlady Z series, it looks like it'll be a nice ride. I don't have the car yet, as my Dad is having it repainted for me and apparently new quarter panels are being put on as well. I have some questions that hopefully you guys can help me with. As far as info goes, it's a JDM model with 60,000km on it, think it's a 78', two seater with manual transmission and a modified engine (I think it's…
