Just a quick question. I have just ordered both these books: How to Rebuild you Nissan OHC How to Modify your Nissan OHC I have a workshop manual (not a Haynes or Chiltons). What I was wondering is if it was worth it getting a Haynes manual to support these books or do they stand up by themselves? (No jokes on the books structural integrity please ) The Haynes manual seems to be held in high regard here, as do the OHC books. If I was to get a Haynes, would it be better to get a 280ZX one or a 240Z one. I have a 240Z with L28 and SU carbs. Thanks in advance

I was wondering if any one has any statistics regarding colors painted by Nissan for 240z cars. I was under the impression that Orange which BTW is the color of my car was the most popular color used. Any body happen to know? McKrack

The color of this car really caught my attention, I sent this guy a message asking him what shade and brand of silver he used on it because I'm trying to get some ideas on some shades of silver for my car which will get painted this summer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STUNNING-240Z-CONFERENCE-BUILT-ENGINE-5-SPD_W0QQitemZ200073416045QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Although I'm 3-4 weeks away from getting my car back from the painter, once I have it I was going to apply the white 240z side stripes that run along both sides of the car. I already have them and was wondering if anyone has ever applied them to their car. What is the best proceedure to make sure they go on straight? Any tips or tricks would be appreaciated. Thanks in advance, Randy

I've got a '72 that needs the front grille replaced. A local salvage yard has a '73 with a decent grille on it. Will a '73 front grille fit on a '72. I'm assuming that it will. Just want to make sure.

IS THIS FRO REAL ? 11,000 RPM TACH. Dude claims it's for a first generation or first year fairlady Z. Also saw a boost guage that went were the clock would go for a '70-'78 Z. Saw it about 4 months ago and it looked like it came from the factory. Haven't seen another one before or since. It was cool looking almost like a rally clock with an Orange needle and read something like 30-0-20 Vac boost preasure os so. Anyone has photos or reference on that boost guage aswell? Heres what the owner said of it, "VDO turbo boost gauge, it was fitted to work in the stock 240z dash with no mods..... (were the stop clock is at).You need to replace the plastic vac hose." ANY…

I know I am making a lot of enemies now with this thread but I really can't imagine life without a 240Z. I know I am a little older than some of you but a 280Z is just a cushiony derivitive of a sports car.I bought my first 240 back in 73. It was a 70 model.I fell in love with it at first sight and after driving it I was hooked.Since then I have had many 240's. I have had several 280's,but I never kept one more than a month or two. They just don't have that same feel like you are part of it like a 240 does. They are smoother and cushy yes, but you can,t feel every part working together and listen to every sound as she tells you just when everything is in sync or when someth…

240Z or 280z. and for folks who have owned both 240s and 280s, which has been your favorite and why? I've only had 280z-s. But am really intrigued by the raw 240z nature and it's loyal following. Soon I will have another Z, haven't made up my mind on whether to go with the 280 I know or tread the 240 waters. Please help me make up my mind. Thanks Joe

Well, I dropped my Z off two weeks ago at the body shop for very small repair and complete paint job. I drove by today just to check in and the car hasn't moved from the spot I left it. They did say 4-6 weeks, so yes Im frustrated over nothing, but was hoping they had at least started something, but hey 4 weeks left in their "time frame" It's not a "work in", so hopefully they will be finished on time.....I know, don't hold my breath. When it gets back I'll throw some pictures up. Randy

Not sure if this is the right section or not, so feel free to move as necessary... A couple of months ago I got another car that I could use as a beater so I didnt have to drive my Z all the time. I decided that I wanted to put the Z key on its own keyring since it would no longer have to be the daily driver. Dont know why, but I just think it is cool that it has a keyring all to itself. I did the same thing with my Talon when it was no longer the daily driver. Its like I get more excited to grab the key when it is not sitting right next to my house keys. Anyways.... I wanted a cool keychain for it and decided on a piston keyring. I could not find one with a "Z" on …
