Looking through an old plastic storage box I found a bunch of papers from 1981, including this consumer guide for Datsun Z cars. I thought you guys might enjoy some of the color photos, and the "future" look at the 1984 300ZX. There was also a great article on the full story behind the 240Z. This guide is dated July, 1981. Cheers, Randy

I appreaciate everyone's input from my earlier post, it was interesting hearing everyones stories and thoughts, especially from the shop owners. Well, I went by the shop today for a "pop in" and the first thing the staff said was "where have you been, we thought you would be coming by everyday" and then they chuckled about how all their "classic customers" are always visiting their cars. I was shocked, it wasn't the greeting I was expecting, I thought they would just try and brush me away. Then I was taken back to the shop area where I found my precious Z, they had finished the repair work, and were into the sanding process. They told me they hope to start shooting pa…

Well, I currently have 195/75 and they need to go. I want to upgrade the size to 205. Though to get a performance tire I would have to go 205/70. I really like how the 75's look on the Z, but what about 70's. Would this make it look weird at all? Show more of the wheel well and just make everything look sorta out of place? On my S10 I used to have like 70's on there, got new tires that are 60's, and now the tires look tiny and out of place. Though what I am looking at right now are 205/75 Standard Touring All-Season from Kumho 205/70 Performance All-Season from Yokohama 205/70 High Performance Summer Sumitomo Right now I am gearing more for the Yokohama because they…

Do any of you still have your original round key with an embossed "N" in it? (Has holes too) If so, could you post a picture. Better yet does anyone know where to get a blank N key? (w/o purchasing a set) My 2/71 Z had such a key but the ignition barrel took a dump. Now all I can find is the ugly no-class keys you get at the locksmith. Jim

I have a bunch of parts that came with my 240z when I purchased it not too long ago. I dont have room to keep it all. I have decided to sell some of it. The common stuff, fenders, hoods, etc I believe I have an idea of what they are worth. The probelm comes when I am trying to figure out what to sell (or expect to get for) parts which I havent seen for sale much. Theese includes: Door Windows Hatch Windows Those (ugly) bars that go over the bumpers I would go the ebay route, and just let the natural forces of the universe determine what its all worth, but I really dont want to deal with shipping glass parts, and prefer to do business in person. Any help would be appr…

I'm getting ready to start the restoration of my '73 240Z. (just as soon as I can sell off the old kitchen cabinets occupying the bay of my garage where I want to put the Z!) I'm tenatively planning to restore it to the condition it was when I drove it new off the lot of the Datsun dealership on one fine April afternoon in 1973. I anticipate a complete teardown and rebuild of the car (its been sitting in my utility yard for the last 15 years and needs a lot of TLC) and I'm thinking maybe I should go ahead and do the kind of rebuild that would let me take it to some concours type judging events. (Maybe - I want to drive this car too, not tow it around just to keep dirt …

I would apprecite wholeheartedly if someone can tell me if the series one Datsun 240z contained jute horsehair underpadding on the small area of flooring in the storage areas behing the seats. I know that originally an area under the seats was absent of carpeting and only had underpadding and that the area described above had no carpeting. But did it have underpadding? Thank you so much for the help. McKrack
