Well, isn't this just awesome. Accidentally got sideways today, tried to reconnect, jumped a curb, almost hit a tree, popped the tire, driver door won't open, wrecked my front air dam. Then, on the way home the old spare blew out on me.

Any body know where I can get some new headlight gaskets? Black Dragon and MSA don't list them; and I'm almost positive Nissan won't have them. Are there any other after-market dealers that might have them? Repro's are fine.

Finally I got around to going to RockyAuto (rockyauto.co.jp), with much thanks to one of my colleagues for offering to drive. I was like a kid in a candy store, unfortunately the cars and parts were all in very close proximity to each other which made complete inspection and good photos impossible, but it was great none the less. Finally I have had a chance to crawl over and sit in a 432, and a very nice quality RB25DE 240Z with updated trim that I can only aspire to acheive. I also had a chance to have a look around the garage which was very interesting as well. My arm really had to be twisted to attend a mountain park where the guys where doing a magazine photo shoot a…

This is a very rough draft, but I think it has to be done. The front of the Aston Martin DB9 is too sexy and too much like a Z not to do it. I like the look of the fron of the original 240Z. I also like the look of an air dam. And I like the look of the G-nose. So why not fabricate a fiberglass DB9 front and put it on a Z. What do you think?

EWA1.com has been swift and reasonably priced, and sometimes downright cheap. Spent WAY to much with them So I thought I pass this link on because they have Ebbro's high detail 1/24 scale S30 for 50% off right now ($50!!), and the 1/24 240ZG for 30% off. Have a good day, and what the hell's up with this LA heat?! Argh.... j! http://www.ewa1.com/cgi-bin/sshp/shop.cgi?ud=AwQBDwUJBgUHBxQVHBMTFQMKAwIDBAkEBgARFgAA&storeid=1&sortby=sortcode&searchtext=EBBRO&cols=1&&c=detail.htm&itemid=EBB24007

Hello All, I was wondering if anyone knows of a reputable mechanic to which I can bring a 240Z I'm considering buying. A close to Groton CT as possible is always good Also, if I get the car I'll probably want to know a mechanic in NYC as well. Anybody have good references or places to look? Thanks! Gabe

Sometime ago, I read on this board that the phase 1 Z if fully original and unrestored was a rare breed in some Asian countries as Hong kong and Japan and worth more than a Skyline GT overthere. If i remember it was a kind of cult car. Is it true and is there an association or a club in these countries that promote the phase 1 Z?

OEM Tool Bag 1 2

I just looked in to my tool compartment for the first time last night. To my amazement, the tool bag was still in a sealed clear plastic bag. Also contained in the bag was a list from Nissan detailing the contents. I scanned the bag with the plastic on it so the attached file is not entirely clear, but you all will be able to see what was listed on it. There also appears to be, for lack of a better word, a chop on the lower right hand corner. The paper measures 7" by 5". I haven't decieded whether or not I will break the bag open in order to make a pristine copy for anybody that wants one. I don't know if this subject has been addressed previously, but if so, sorry…

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and was hoping I could ask some pretty broad general questions. First, some background. I'm considering buying a 1973 240Z that I've found with around 60,000 miles. I've never owned (or driven for any amount of time more than a few minutes) a manual car which brings me to question number one: 1) Is it cruel and evil to buy this car and learn on it? Will it just explode under my unskilled hands? I am also far from a mechanic. I've taken seats out of my current car (a '90 Volvo 240) and replaced the seat foam, and taken apart a bit of the sunroof to prevent leaks, but that's probably the extant of my mechanic genius. So, second que…

Howdy All, I am in need of some help. I had pulled the hard (fuel, vapor, brake) line mounts and insulators, from my '72 and stored them in a large ziplock bag. Evidently, in strippping several of the same parts from '71-'83 cars, I have put them all in the same bag, and now have no idea which ones are original to the car. Has anyone got a set tucked away for or from plating/refurbishing that they could lay out the insulators for(I can figure out the brackets from the insulaotrs and position) a picture? I checked the my printed copy of the fische, FAST, and the parts book(Oct, '69-Dec, '72), and none of the diagrams show the insulators/brackets(not even partnumbers)…
